ARIEL POV “What!” I shrieked out, holding tightly to my phone as I tried to understand what was happening. “Mr. Ian White has requested for you to be his new secretary, you start early tomorrow.” The voice over the phone repeated and ended the call. For some reason, I felt sad and happy at the same time. Sad that I would continue living in his nightmare and looking at his damn fine face every time. But it was a good thing. Isn't he giving me high positions because of the s*x we had? I don't want that to ever happen. After the one-night stand thing, I have used protection drugs to keep me out of pregnancy. Why does he want me after saying I wasn't his type of woman. Why would he even fire the secretary that was there before? Anika and Smith have corporated more and worked things out but he being a jerk wouldn't just let silly mistakes pass. I packed my things, heading to Mia's house. I am staying at her place for tonight, to sort things out and make the guys have their night tonight. Mikel's girlfriend has been pestering me, saying they spend lots of money at the hotel because Mikel didn't want to inconvenience me and I understood perfectly. They were the type that never wanted their little sister to have a sleepless night. Besides, going to Mia's place might cool off my brain, and telling her about the one-night stand might bring out her dramatic behavior but I need to let it out. I hated to even think that I lost my dignity to that man. “I heard your screams a few minutes ago, what's wrong?” Zeke asked, adjusting his black hair as he stared in my direction. “And why are your bags packed? Where are you moving to?” He asked again, looking puzzled at everything that just happened. “The shout from my room was a shock moment from the news I heard. I have a new position at the company,” I announced and a smile formed across his face. “It's great to be independent. But don't ever forget you can be a CEO at one of our parents' Cafe businesses.” He declared and I smiled. “Have you heard from them?” I asked and he nodded. “She's asking about you and I hope you get time to see her,” he retorted, getting back to his phone. “I'm going over to Mia's place for the night,” I yelled running out of the house with the little bag filled with office wear. It's better to tag along many than to be stuck with one. “I'm coming, Mi.” ~~ Getting ready for work the next morning was stressful as Mia wouldn't stop complaining about the dresses, saying they didn't befit my title. What about yesterday? I remembered how she freaked out, finding out the truth. “Ari, why didn't you tell me at the beginning? That jerk! How could he take advantage of you? Because he's some boss? They make us feel weak. We poor people are like bait to the rich. And I just get annoyed when I realize you are not poor like me and you could easily be the CEO of your parent's branch.” She had ranted angrily, bringing out things and saying she would meet with Ian and slap him across the face. Who does she think she is? I just chuckled at her words. If she only knew Ian was more savage than she was. Listening to how he disregarded my dignity she was more agitated. “I'm disappointed in you, Ari. You do things like it doesn't mean a thing to you. Why didn't you tell me this at the right time? Is his girlfriend worth your stand? I will give him a piece of my mind whenever we meet.” She had sworn and I scoffed. Will they ever meet? She should be living in her dreams. I walked into Mr. Ian's office, adjusting my tight skirt and blouse as I stared up in his direction. His brown eyes pierced into my soul. “Do I have to tell you things to do?” He asked and I shook my head awkwardly. “No, yes sir.” I stuttered and he scoffed. He pulled out some files and handed them to me. “Work on these files and correct their obvious mistakes. Send them to my office before 12.” He declared and I gasped wide-eyed. “W…what did you say?” I asked, he narrowed his deadly eyes at me while I gulped down hard. “Are you questioning me? You want to be fired too?” He said frantically and I sighed. How was it possible for me? “Sir, this is just 8 and you asked me to submit by 12. This isn't possible.” I explained glaring at his scornful smirk. “Do you object to my instructions? You clearly don't want to earn then,” he said nonchalantly and I slowly picked up the files, heading out of the office but his voice stopped me in my tracks. “No errors, no mistakes,” he said and I strode out of the office, angrily. What does he want now? 4 hours to be done with these files. How is that even possible? He is sure to be a d**k head. I sighed tiredly, entering into my new office, with the tag, Ms. Ariel Davenport. For the first time, I had a rank in the company. It felt surreal and I loved the feeling. “Ariel!” Someone screamed rushing into the office in delight. “I heard you bagged a secretary post.” Mark, my best friend, smiled in surprise. “Who would have thought the cold man would be this sensible to reason this out?” He said and I swiftly covered his mouth anxiously. “What are you doing?” He asked and I frowned. “The last time I said he was a jerk, I thought he would get me out of the company,” I yelled while he just surveyed my office. “But instead, he gave you the title of his secretary. I hope he doesn't want to get back at you.” He winked, bringing out a pack of food in his bag. “I brought this for you,” he offered and I beamed. “Thank you, what will I do without you?” I teased and he scoffed. “A Lot. You can do a lot.” He responded and we both burst into laughter. I took the food from him and sighed as he left. I arranged the files and decided to eat first, getting a grip of myself. Opening the food, I felt nauseated and I wanted to poke as I stumbled into the bathroom in irritation.
