Kyra Lewis:
I woke up determined and went straight to the bathroom to take care of my personal hygiene. After getting ready, I headed to the closet and chose my outfit for the day. Today was a special moment because I was going to the agency to sign the contract and get to know the space better, which could mark the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
I left the bedroom and walked toward the living room, where I found my family gathered, enjoying breakfast.
— Good morning! — I greeted them with a smile.
— Good morning! — they replied in unison.
— Are you going to the agency, daughter? — my father asked, with a look that mixed curiosity and concern.
— Yes, I am — I confirmed, feeling a slight anxiety.
— I have a meeting scheduled and I’ll pass by the agency; I can give you a lift — he offered.
— I’d appreciate that, dad! — I responded, grateful.
— Have you received any news about the request to the court to access the cameras? — I inquired, a mix of hope and concern in my voice.
— If everything goes well, we’ll have a hearing next month, and the answer should come out — he explained, skillful in maintaining calm.
— This is all taking too long — I murmured, frustrated.
— The justice system is slow. If I could, I’d invade the premises to get the recordings, but unfortunately, I can’t do that — he lamented.
— That’s okay. What I want most is for this to be resolved quickly and for the person responsible to pay for what they did — I declared, firm in my desire for justice.
— They will, daughter. I’m determined to do everything I can to make that happen — my father affirmed, showing unwavering support.
— We’ll do this, right, love? — my mother asked, trying to reinforce family unity.
— Of course, my beloved, we’ll count on that — my father quickly replied.
After breakfast, I looked at the clock and realized it was already 9:30.
— Let’s go, dad! I need to be there by 10.
— I’m leaving — he responded, giving my mother a loving kiss before we left together.

When we arrived in front of the agency, my father shot me a questioning look.
— Nervous? — he asked, noticing the tension on my face.
— Yes — I replied, feeling a butterflies in my stomach.
— Everything will be fine! — he said, leaning in to kiss my forehead. — I have to go now. Good luck!
— Bye, dad! — I said, my heart pounding.
— Bye, daughter — he replied, waving as I exited the car.
I headed toward the agency’s entrance, feeling the gaze of some people on me. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves and approached the receptionist.
— Hi! — I greeted, trying to sound confident.
— Hello! — she replied with a friendly smile.
— I have a meeting scheduled with Matteo — I informed her.
— What’s your name? — she asked.
— Kyra Lewis — I said, and to my surprise, I noticed a sparkle of recognition in her eyes.
— Sorry to ask, but are you the daughter of Eric and Andrea Lewis? — she inquired, clearly excited.
— Yes — I responded, feeling a little shy with the attention.
— Wow! Nice to meet you, my name is Gabriela — she said, smiling warmly.
— Nice to meet you, too — I replied, momentarily forgetting my anxiety.
Gabriela looked at her computer, and with a gesture, indicated:
— You can go upstairs. He’s in a meeting, but you can wait in his office. The room is on the top floor; there are only two, his and Mr. Nathaniel’s.
— Thank you! — I replied, already turning toward the elevator.
I went up to the top floor, and upon arrival, I approached another secretary standing in front.
— Hello! — I greeted politely.
— Hello! — she responded, studying me with a critical look.
— I have a meeting with Matteo, and I was told to wait in his office.
— Your name? — she asked, maintaining a neutral expression.
— Kyra Lewis — I reiterated, still somewhat anxious.
After checking the computer, the secretary made a gesture with her hand.
— You may go in — she said, her expression suggesting she wasn’t very interested.
I stepped into the room and took a deep breath, feeling the scent he emanated. "That bastard smells incredible," I thought, as I settled in. I waited, feeling restless. It wasn’t long before the door opened. I was facing away, but when I turned the chair, I made eye contact with Matteo, who stopped abruptly, gazing at me intensely.
