The Morning After Part Two

1923 Words
Andrea's POV I don't know what it was that made me realize that I wasn't home. I don't know if it was the mixed scent of pheromones filling the air, or the fact that I was sleeping on top of someone's chest that worried me. About whatever it was, I knew that it wasn't good. I was almost too afraid to open my eyes, almost too afraid to see whose chest my head lay so comfortably. Whoever it was, his body was warm, he smelled great, and his heartbeat was somehow beating at the same pace mine was. Then I heard it, a voice I never thought I would ever hear first thing in the morning. " Rise and shine, little bunny; I know you're not asleep..." Sebastian said. So, I ended up in bed with my rival? Meaning that it wasn't a dream; everything really happened. Suddenly, the memories of last night flooded my head. I pulled the cover to hide my shame. "Oh, come on. Don't tell me that you're shy?" he said, pulling back the covers. His hand went to my face, and he gently swept away the hair on my face. I wasn't shy, I was just mortified because no matter how I look at this, I am the one who started the whole thing. I admit that I wasn't drunk last night, but the liquid courage definitely made me do this. " Shut up!" I said to him and tried to get up. He quickly followed me out of bed, and he grabbed my hand and pulled me back to his chest. " Little bunny... trying to run away? Do you think that you can just hit it and quit it just like that? What do you take me for?" he said, his tone sounding a little cold. What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is he upset? Why would he be upset that I want to leave? We don't even like each other. He should be the one throwing me out, and now he says this? " Hit it and quit it? Sebastian, don't act like a saint. Everyone knows how much of a playboy you are. I am definitely sure that this is not your first one-night stand, so just forget anything ever happened," I said to him and pushed him away. " Little bunny, are you keeping tabs on me? I didn't know that you cared that much about my private life," he said to me. He didn't even deny the allegations. Everyone knows about his reputation with omegas. If I go back and check every girl he was known to be with, an alpha like me shouldn't even be on the list. " Don't flatter yourself. If you hadn't had such a messy private life, no one would be talking about it behind your back, " I said while I gathered my clothes off the ground. " Andy... are you jealous?" he said to me. He was smiling arrogantly and proudly, like me being jealous of him was some kind of achievement. " God! You're impossible!" I said and slipped into my dress. Though I could find my jewelry, my dress, and my shoes, for the life of me, I couldn't find my underwear. " You like me, don't you?" he continued to say after falling to get a response from me. But his question: do I like him? That was a hard question to answer. I have always thought of him as my rival, and yet somehow, I felt a genuine sense of calm and happiness whenever I was around him; even on the days when he irritated me, I still wanted him around. But we have been rivals for over a decade. If I told him that I like him now, he would only use it against me. " No. Why would I like you?" I said to him. " I am every girl's dream. Why wouldn't you like me?" he asked. " Well, since you asked, let me tell you! You are arrogant, obnoxious, self-centered, and egomaniacal. All in all, you're walking red flag. Honestly, I feel sorry for the girls that like you," I said as I put on my necklace. " Really, does that mean that you feel sorry for yourself too? I mean, after last night, you're also one of my girls, right?" he said to me with a smirk. " f**k you, Sebastian!" I said in an irritated tone, because he was right. I was also now one of his girls. " You already did! Six times if I count correctly," he said and pointed at the condom wrappers scattered all over the floor. I shot him an angry look, ready to tell him off when his father suddenly knocked on the door violently. " Sebastian Ashton Vale! You better get your ass out here right now!" his father roared from the other side of the door. " s**t, you have to hide!" he said in a nervous tone. " Hide? For what? You have hooked up with so many girls before; one more shouldn't make a difference," I said to him. " It's not the same. He cannot see you here!" he said and grabbed my hands, almost like he was pleading with me. All the pride and arrogance had disappeared. I wasn't wrong about what I said. Everyone knows about his reputation. I am definitely sure that his father has seen him with countless women over these last few years; why would it matter if he saw me? " Fine, I won't go out," I said. He finally let out the breath he had been holding inside. He ran to the couch and took his bathrobe. " I'll be back in a bit," he said and surprisingly gave me a quick kiss on my forehead. As I was fixing myself to leave, my phone buzzed on the nightstand. I took it only to see over a hundred missed calls and texts from my brothers, which wasn't a good thing. Last night, not only did I go out without them knowing, but I was using the encrypted phone, which couldn't be tracked. Knowing my brothers, they were probably losing their minds. If they knew that I was only minutes away from them, they would definitely kill Sebastian. I know that even without them being able to trace my phone, they can still find me. All they had to do was find one of my friends or even the footage from the club to know that I was here. Even though I told Sebastian that I would stay put, I had to leave. I took off my shoes and walked out of his bedroom. As I was passing the study, I heard Sebastian arguing with his father. " No! You have no right to interfere with my private life; we had a deal!" Sebastian angrily said to his father. " You had five years! That was the deal. You live your life however you want for five years and then get married. Now it's time! The Diandi girl is sensible; she knows the business, and in terms of family status, they are a perfect match with us. Your mother and I think it would be for the best if you married her," he said to Sebastian. I never fully understood why the Vale heir acted so recklessly. It turns out that he had a free pass for five years, but that is not the main issue. The issue now is that his father wants him to get married, and the woman he wants him to marry is me. " Teressa is NOT my mother!" he said with a voice laced with poison. " I meant Briar, your birth mother," his father said. " No! You two fight over everything that has to do with me, and besides that, my mother knows how much I value my freedom to choose for myself; why would I believe that she would agree to this?" he said. " Believe it or not, we agreed on this. You two basically grew up together; you know each other. This is better than marrying a stranger. The Vale and the Diandis are the backbone of this country; this alliance will be good for everyone, you included!" he said. " No! I will NOT marry that spoilt princess. We might have grown up together; she's nothing but an entitled, spoiled princess. She's rebellious and, most of all, she cannot be controlled, not worth the trouble. If I am to marry, I'll find myself someone else, and besides..." I didn't stay long to hear the rest of the conversation. If I hadn't realized my true feelings in the past, at that moment, I knew I had feelings for him because if I didn't, what he said wouldn't hurt as much as it did. Whatever I felt for him, he just broke it. Without making a sound, I sneaked out of the house, careful with the security personnel. As Sebastian always did, I jumped the wall and went home. After the morning I had, I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, especially my brothers, because I knew that they would grind me for not only going out, but for staying out the whole night. The only problem was that I had to pass through my father's office, and just like Sebastian and his father, my brother was arguing with my father. " Who knows where she could be right now? I can't believe that you let her go out on her own!" Kane said. " She's an adult now, and she can take care of herself. All of you taught her how to stand on her own. Kane, you taught her how to think; Kris and Kale, you taught her combat; and you, Kaleen, you taught her how to shoot. Are you saying that you doubt your skill?" he said to them. " Mother knew all of that too, but that didn't stop the Vans from killing her!" Kale said. " They compensated for her loss," my father said. I stumbled back and knocked over the flower pot. At the sound of the glass breaking, everyone stood up and turned to the door, only to see my shocked face staring back at them. " Andy..." My brother Kale said in a low tone. " You lied to me! All of you lied to me!" I said angrily. " Andy, it's not what you think. Whatever you heard, you don't know the full story," he said to me. " Ten years! No one ever told me how my mother died, only to find that she was killed. Not just that, you know who killed her, and you let them go? Why? What did they offer that you felt was as valuable as my mother?" " Andrea, calm down, this is complicated," Kaleen said to me. " Then explain it to me," I said. No one said anything. I had my answer, and it was all I needed. I know that they have never truly seen me as their equal, but I am also part of this family, and she was also my mother; I had every right to know the truth about her. I made a decision right then and there. The guy I liked doesn't want to marry me; in fact, he thinks that I am a spoiled princess. My own family is keeping secrets from me, so what's the point of staying here?
