Hope quickly faded from their faces, replaced by anger. I felt a mix of fear and frustration, but I kept my expression innocent and confused to hide my true feelings.
“What a surprise! How did you find where I go to be alone?” I said with shock in my tone.
My uncle's face was red with fury; it looked like he couldn’t make up his mind if he wanted to yell at me and beat me or if he believed me. After many long moments, his face became cold and blank.
