Week 5 The Conflict

722 Words
As I took off my hoodie, I noticed that Lucas was staring at my body. I am now wearing a black tank top underneath. "I'm sorry," he said. He shouldn't be though, he was not the one who just ran so aggressively causing the coffee to spill. I feel bad for my hoodie, though. It is a very special hoodie for me. "Do you have a class right now?" he gently asked. I shook my head as a no. I have none 'til three in the afternoon and it's still nine in the morning. I just decided to go to the library to study for an upcoming quiz and do some homework. "I have a spare jacket on my locker. We can go there so you wouldn't feel cold," he offered. He started walking and I stalked him from behind. I badly need one, it's freezing right now and I might get sick if I don't wear thick clothing. We went to his locker near the gymnasium. He is an athlete and they are offered big lockers here to fit all their things for sports. "I'm really sorry. You can wear this and we can have a cup of coffee since you still have no classes for this hour." "I think it's okay. You don't need to," I replied and looked at the floor. "What happened at the party, it's okay. You don't need to worry about it." I also gave him a smile to prove that it's really fine. "Okay, okay. You said okay twice so I think we're good," he offered me his right hand. "We can be friends?" "Yes, friends," I smiled and accepted his hands. From then, Lucas and I started being friends. I also made some friends from my block and I can say that I am finally adjusting to the city life. "Hey, Joanna. You wanna party with us tonight at Lucas' place?"  Aira asked me while she's licking her vanilla ice cream. "He has this killer apartment and all the parties he throws are a bomb!" "Oh yeah, it's an open party so everyone can go," Aidan, Aira's twin gay brother agreed and they are both squealing. "Maybe, I don't know," I simply answered and flipped the pages of the Chemistry book. I need to finish reading this first because Mr. Alvarez wants an interactive discussion with his students and I don't want to embarrass myself in his class. After class, I went to my dorm and searched for clothes that I could wear for Lucas' party. I do not own a lot of clothes so maybe, I need a good shopping later. "Wow, Joanna. You look like a bomb. Everyone's gonna turn heads on you later," Aidan commented at what I am wearing. I'm wearing a satin royal blue top paired with a black leather skirt. When we arrived at the place, there are already a lot of people. Of course, he's famous and many people are more than willing to be here. I went to the bar and looked for some wine but I can only see cocktail drinks and beer. Aira and Aidan are already joining the people dancing near the indoor pool. "The liquor princess is here," I heard a comment from the back. I know that he was referring to me. My father owns a liquor company but only a few people knew about that. I turned to who it was to find out if he's someone that I know. But no, it is my first time seeing this guy. He looks a bit familiar though, I just can't figure out why. "I'm Ethan, Lucas' black sheep cousin," he winked at me and grabbed a whiskey near me. "I heard you are now friends with Lucas and Jane, did they know that you are the liquor princess?" "What do you mean?" I asked Ethan. I'm still wondering why he knew a lot of things about me, given that he's just Lucas and Jane's cousin. And he is a black sheep? "Oh, you didn't know? Your fathers are competitors," he smirked and laughed with no humor. "Not in business, though." I got even more confused with all of the information that he knew about. I have no idea what he's talking about. There is a competition between dad and his dad?
