Rogue problem part 2

782 Words
John After having initiated Kayla to the pack, Griffin took her home and got her situated. I saw them stealing kisses here and there, and Kayla truly enjoyed his company, and I've heard Griffin giggle like a love-sick teenage girl more times than I ever thought I would. But, he's happy. He found his mate at 41, and even though it hurts him, he obeys the law and will wait for her to get her wolf before marking and mating her. She explained that she ran when the rogue Alpha decided she was his mate, and was ready to breed her the very next day, and knowing Thalen, he will try to get her back. Alpha! Rogues spotted at the boarder! The mind link opens and my Gamma, Ricky calls me. I curse under my breath. Get every warrior that can fight to the boarder. I need them all around. Griffin, you stay with Kayla. Protect her if they get past us! I run towards the boarder and shift to Xavier, letting him take control. We run fast, and within five minutes we can see Thalen trying to fight Odin, my Gamma's wolf. The i***t have no idea what he's up against. Xavier snarls when he see Thalen, but there's no time to help Odin. I jump on a grey rogue, locking my jaw on it's tail and tug him away from one of my warrior women, but he shakes his head, using his paw to write Mate! on the ground. I look at my warrior, and she nods. And with that we have a rogue on our side. I don't know how many rogues we kill, but Thalen is stronger than he appears. Odin is injured, and his hind leg is just hanging there. He's been attacked left to right for a while now, but none of us are willing to back down. I fling myself on a brown wolf, locking my jaw around it's neck, and start whipping my head, ripping it's throat out. It takes another 20 minutes before we manage to kill Thalen, and the remaining rogues shift back, kneel and lift their hands above their head in surrender. I recognize Xander, one of the rogues we're on good terms with, and I can see the conflicted look in his eyes as he look around. "Alpha John, I'm sorry for my part in this. I raised Kayla after her parents died, and Thalen said she was his mate. I tried stopping him, but he claimed he had every right to claim her now, no matter her age. I managed to get him to stand down until she's at least 17, but this morning she was gone, and Thalen said she had been taken, and we had to get her back." I shift back, hearing his explanation. "She's my Beta's mate, actually. She came here on her own accord, and she recognized the signs when he sniffed the air and turned. His eyes said more than his own words could, and she passed out from exhaustion, in his arms. To be honest, that kid has my Beta acting like a love-sick puppy. It's embarrassing, really. But, he won't claim her until she has her wolf. She was allowed to choose where she wanted to live, and she chose to stay with him. I have initiated her to the pack. She is safe." He nods, knowing I'm telling the truth, and he smiles. "Good. He deserves to be happy... But what are you planning to do with us? I would have asked to join if I didn't have a part in this, because, to be honest, I'm tired of living as a rogue. But it is, of course, up to you, Alpha John." I sigh and look down. "Did any rogue here know the truth of why Thalen attacked us, or did he tell everyone the same bullshit?" I use my Alpha aura to get them to tell the truth, and they all shake their head. "No, Alpha John. He just said you took his mate," a young man says. He can't be more than 18 or 19. He is skinny... In fact, they all are. We sent food every week, so they should be well-fed, but knowing Thalen, he kept most of it himself. "Right, well, to anyone that wants to join my pack, welcome! We will find you a home, and initiate you to the pack in one week if you still wish to join us." I turn around and motion for the rogues to follow. My men give out blankets they can cover themselves with, and soon the new members are getting situated in their new homes.
