Camille was just a girl from a small town who now very much hated Valentine's Day. Her boyfriend had cheated on her on their anniversary and she decided to get over him by having her first one night stand. What she doesn’t know is that the guy she chooses has his very own secret and little does she know her life is about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Chapter 1
Camille did not want to be here. It was Valentine’s Day after all…a day she could no longer stand. A day she wished someone would remove from the calendar entirely. Camille felt pathetic seeing a few of the couples in the bar swaying together, giving each other loving looks. She tried hard to keep away the pain and bitterness swirling inside her. Tried to ignore just how much she wanted to go home and curl up under a blanket. But, she had a mission. A mission that would help fix everything. She sipped her rum and coke slowly as the music from the band pulsated throughout the bar. Camille felt mesmerized as she began watching the lead singer pour his heart out. The emotion in his voice was raw, making her feel all the emotions he was going through and she wondered what he had experienced to make him sing like that. She heard cheering erupt all over the bar as he finished the song. Camille downed the rest of her drink before sauntering towards the stage. Her emerald green eyes stared intensely at his spiky black hair and stormy grey eyes as he dried off the sweat that had gathered on his forehead. There was already a crowd of women near him, apparently having the same intention as her, except she didn't look nearly as desperate as they did in their tight tops and mini skirts. But it was Valentine’s Day after all and clearly they all wanted the same thing. Who was she to judge? Camille tried not to feel self conscious in her own outfit, which was just a blue tank top and her favourite tight jeans. She hoped it would still be enough to get her what she wanted. Camille pushed through the throng of women and as the lead singer’s eyes caught hers, he smiled. Camille felt her palms sweat as she shouted, "Great song!" He smiled wider, showing off his perfect, straight, white teeth and said,"Thanks." He jerked his head to his left and Camille smiled, understanding what he meant. "I'll catch up with you later." He winked before walking back over to his band. She ignored the daggers now being thrown at her from the women and instead focused on the excitement coursing through her body as she headed over to where he’d gestured. Less than ten minutes later he stood before her, free of sweat and any evidence that would suggest he’d just sung for an hour straight. He smirked. "So what's your name?" "No names," she replied, trying to steel herself before she lost her nerve and bailed on her mission. He gave her a look. "If that's what you want,” he said as he continued to stare at her with an intense gaze and Camille began biting her lips, her telltale nervous sign. "You wanna get out of here?" he asked. "Why else would I be talking to you," she replied easily. Camille didn’t know where that had come from, but she knew that she’d sounded a lot more confident than she'd felt. He looked at her, surprised, before a corner of his lips twitched upwards. Then one minute he was staring intensely at her and the next his lips were on hers kissing her harder than anyone else ever had. And the whole night began to blur. Between the dizzying effect of the alcohol she’d drank and being lost in his kisses, she barely noticed when they’d left and made it to his apartment. However, she was very aware when he pulled her towards his bedroom and onto his bed. She shivered as he reached under her top and unclasped her bra. As his soft but firm lips pressed against hers once more, her brain screamed that she was going to regret this. But she pushed the thought away. She wrapped her arms around him and he settled in between her legs. He deepened the kiss then pulled off her top leaving her exposed. His eyes became even darker as he seemed to memorize every inch of her. Every curve. "Are you sure?" he asked, searching her eyes for confirmation. She nodded and he kissed her hard again. And soon she was lost in him completely. ~0~ Hours later she looked down at the stranger who now knew her in ways only one man had known before and kissed his cheek. He looked so sweet while sleeping. And she almost wished that this didn't have to end. But this was just for one night and nothing more. She got up slowly, dressed quickly and left without looking back, fearing that if she did, she would do something else she’d regret. ~0~ "You are glowing," Camille pointed out to her younger sister, Alice. "Why?" Her sister still had a happy expression on her face as she looked dreamily away. Camille had to wave her hands repeatedly in front of her sister’s face before she snapped out of the trance she was in. "Oh, ummm…I met a guy,” Alice said sheepishly. Camille waited patiently for her sister to elaborate. "His name is Jace and he's in a band called Generic Flames. He's the lead singer." As soon as she said this, Camille's mind flickered back to the guy she had met a few months ago, not only had she purposely not learned his name, but she also hadn’t learned the name of the band. She almost wished she had. Sometimes she’d found her mind drifting back to him and that night. But it was a one night stand and nothing more. She wouldn’t see him again…no matter how great he was in bed. "...I mean he's smart and funny and just amazing," Alice finished with a sigh. Guilt crept through Camille as she realized she hadn't really heard a word of what her sister was saying. Camille cleared her throat. "Wow. He sounds great." Camille smiled, genuinely happy for her sister. "He is," Alice nodded. "Well… Then I can't wait to meet this new lover boy of yours," Camille teased. But instead of Alice blushing and turning away like Camille had expected, Alice looked ecstatic. "Oh you will. He's meeting me here today." Camille blinked, shocked and kind of hurt. "Is that why you asked me to come here?" Alice nodded."I just wanted you to meet the guy who makes me so happy, Cam." With a sigh of defeat, Camille responded, "Fine, but I haven’t seen you in so long. I thought we’d get to catch up.” Without a guy being involved. “We are catching up,” Alice responded. “I mean how’s College going, Cammy?” She knew Alice was just trying to change the subject and more importantly she knew what her sister really wanted to know… had Camille met any new guys since her devastating break up. "Sorry to disappoint you but no Ali." Camille knew she should have told her sister about her one night stand, but something in her had decided against it. Alice gave her a small smile."That's because none of them are good enough for you, Cam." “Obviously,” Camille grinned jokingly. "So a real question, with no underlying meaning… How's work?” Camille asked. “You know I’m still so proud that you got promoted to assistant shift manager.” Alice sighed, annoyed. "It’s just a little grocery store, Camille. It’s not a big deal,” Alice responded, looking away. “Not like what you’re doing anyway,” she mumbled. Camille bit her lip. Alice’s grades hadn’t been good enough for her to go straight to university like Camille had. And even though Alice could have gone to community college and then transferred, she’d decided against it, saying that school just wasn’t for her. Camille had supported Alice’s decisions and rooted her on, even if her sister sometimes seemed bitter about it. Camille picked up her menu, and scanned through the list to distract herself from the now slightly awkward mood between them when the bell on the door rang, signaling that another customer had entered. Camille looked up. What she saw made her breath catch. Familiar black hair, muscular build, stormy grey eyes. Him.. What was he doing here? Camille almost had to rub her eyes just to be sure. She straightened up her menu and tried to hide behind it. Stupid, she knew but she had no other choice as he was headed in her direction. As images of that night began flashing more vividly in her mind, Camille knew then that she shouldn't have slept with him. She peeked over her menu…and realized he wasn't looking at her, but someone else. Relief immediately filled her before another emotion she couldn’t name caused her stomach to clench. Alice looked up and gasped, smiling widely. Camille watched as her sister got up and practically jumped on him, placing a kiss on his lips. No… Alice turned back to Camille, a big smile still on her face. "Cam, meet my boyfriend, Jace." Jace looked at her and then surprised her by smirking. Camille looked at Alice in shock and watched as her sister wrapped herself around the very man she’d slept with…who had made her feel things she’d never felt before. No…
