Steve's POV
I decided to visit Elana as I wanted to talk with her about what she saw that evening. I picked the address from her curriculum which she provided on the interview's dav.
I reached the front door and I started shifting from one foot to the other, thinking how to approach her.
I heard some strange noises from inside and then I knocked. No reply... I knocked again and listened... Nothing...then I heard a loud noise as somebody was falling on the floor. I knocked the door down rushing inside.
Shivers went down my spine as she was curled up on the floor. I could hear her Iomoaning in pain.
Blood rushed through my veins when I saw two guys hitting her and I instantly wanted to kill them.
We fought but they managed to escape eventually. I did not follow them,
instead I ran towards Elana. I was sad but happy at the same time, that I managed to get there in time. God knows what could have happened if I was not there in time.
She looked so fragile and helpless. My heart was stinging. I wanted to take away all her pain, but I could not.
I scooped her in my arms and carried her to my car. I told the driver to rush to the nearest Hospital as I was placing her on the back seat. I sat on the back seats with her.
She started to wake up, but she was frightened and confused. I wrapped my
arms around her, trying to comfort her.
"Calm down little girl... calm down...you are safe now".. I whispered into her ear and kissed herforehead.
She fell asleep in my embrace.
There were feelings I could not understand. I never had feelings for a woman but there was the urge of me wanting to protect her, to be near her, to know her better.
She affected me in all ways.
Since our last encounter that evening, I was not able to think straight. I felt broken. She was all I have had in my mind. I wanted to feel her, to laugh with her and to love her.
She was the puzzle piece to make me whole again.
