The car drive was quiet. Mainly because we were all doing our own stuff but also because I don't think anyone knew what to say.
"We're 5 minutes out" Cameron called from the passenger side. He had been directing Isaac, where to drive, for the last 5 hours. Mollie sat across from me and Jasmine to the side of me. Jasmine was resting her head on my shoulder. She was sleeping peacefully and I didn't want to disturb her. Mollie looked at me and Jasmine and rolled her eyes.
"You two look cute together" She smirked as I blushed at her comment. I didn't deny it.
"We're here" Cameron opened his door getting out to unlock a rusty metal fence that was hidden by some brambles. I saw on the fences some signs. There were several and I managed to read a couple as we drove on through. One read Danger Electrocution, another reading Danger Radiation. The two signs confused me and I questioned Cameron as he got back into the car.
"Isn't the radiation dangerous?" He chuckled and I saw him smirk in the mirror.
"The radiation isn't real" I mentally facepalmed as I began to chuckle at his genius idea. "Its to scare away any unwanted visitors" He added before we pulled to a halt. The limo was parked in front of an old abandoned farmhouse. Its windows were broken but boarded up to replace the glass. The wooden porch was mouldy, probably from the rain and lack of upkeep. It looked unstable and creaked whenever you walked on the floorboards. Approaching the front door I turned to look at Cameron who I could tell was holding back a smile.
"What?" I asked. He nodded for me to enter finally letting his smile show through. I opened the door...
The inside was completely different. Modern and fresh. It's like we just walked into a new reality, a new time where the house used to be fixed and was home to a family.
"I... I don't get it?" I was confused at the fully furnished and clean front room. The walls were painted a snowy white and the wooden décor complimented it perfectly. Walking further into the room Jasmine followed close behind me.
"Its... beautiful," She said with a smile on her face. Mollie joined after her and nodded in agreement. She was the cool one but I could tell she was freaking out inside. She loved decorating. She was the one who helped me decorate my apartment. I say helped me but she took over pretty quickly and I just nodded in agreement with whatever she decided. Isaac and Cameron were the last to enter and Isaac's reaction was expressionless. He just wandered over to the sofa and sat down, clearly exhausted from driving for 5 hours. Cameron piped up,
"So do you guys like it?" He asked with a smile as I'm pretty sure he already knew the answer. Jasmine was the first to reply and she joyously said,
"Of course" He looked at me for the final approval being the alpha and all. I nodded at him and he pulled a face trying to act cool while also being satisfied.
The rest of the house was... odd. It wasn't your usual farmhouse. There were 9 rooms in total, all fairly large. The first 4 were downstairs. The living room as you enter the house. Through a swinging door was the kitchen. It had a double fridge which was stocked to the brim. A hallway led to two other rooms. One is a room with a large set up of computers and screens. This was what Cameron called the command centre. Across the hall was another room it was full of supplies. I'm talking about clothes, food, toiletries. Basically, everything that would last a family of ten around 6 months. He called that room the storage depot. The basement was accessible at the end of the hallway with stairs leading down. This was a large room with a bunch of training equipment. It wasn't nearly as open and usable as our old training area but there were several punching bags and weight sets for us to maintain our fitness. Upstairs, on the second floor, was 4 bedrooms. Mollie had her own room that she picked first. Nobody contested her, probably because they were scared. Cameron had the second pick as he was the one who organised the safehouse. Choosing the second largest bedroom. His had a balcony with stairs leading outside. Isaac had the third pick and got the smallest bedroom however he didn't seem to really care and preferred the smaller room as it felt homely. Me and Jasmine had the master bedroom. The largest bedroom in the house, rightfully mine as the alpha. The room was painted a creamy colour and similar to the living room was full of wooden décor. Wooden wardrobe and drawers lined the wall. A large oval carpet with an old fashioned design lay across the middle of the room. It had a black desk with a leather chair on top. This would be useful for when I needed to think on my own. In front of the desk was a leather couch. I offered to sleep there so me and Jasmine didn't have to share the bed however she refused and insisted on me sleeping in the bed too. She didn't seem to mind...
It was late when we all finally settled into the safehouse. Mollie and Isaac had gone to their rooms and by the silence, they were probably asleep. Cameron was downstairs in the Command centre setting up the computers. He wasn't being quiet about it... or was that just my enhanced hearing.
Entering the master bedroom, Jasmine was already in bed. She was on the far side facing the window so I couldn't tell if she was asleep or not. Sneaking over to the bed I heard her whisper,
"I'm not asleep yet you know... I can hear you sneaking" I smiled and apologised. She turned over and smiled back removing the cover from my half so I could join her. I still felt uncomfortable joining her in bed, especially after the dreams I've been having. Trying to avoid the thoughts I laid down facing the ceiling. I wasn't tired yet so I laid there thinking about everything that happened in the last few weeks, the occasional thought about Jasmine and the dream slipping through my mental block. As if reading my mind she asked before smiling at me with her beautiful ocean eyes.
"So, are you gonna tell me about this dream you had about me the other night?"...
