Arriving home, with Cameron by my side, I was greeted by the sheriff, my dad. He was sat on the porch reading this weeks newspaper and a beer in his other hand.
"Hey Harry, how's your day?" My father had a slight slur as if that wasn't his first beer.
"Fine dad" I replied quickly and with no expression to avoid any conversation. Entering my house, I made my way directly to the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. Although small, it seemed to satisfy my hunger and the unsure feeling of if I was going to turn at any moment had subsided.
"Aren't you going to tell me what happened... in the janitors closet?" I sighed as he brought it up.
"Sure" I replied. I started to recall the events to him, starting with what happened during the test, then leading up to what happened in the janitors closet. Cameron's face stayed the same throughout me telling him what happened. I don't know if that's because he already knew most of what would happen or if he was just struggling to understand. Coming to the end of my explanation, I decided to summarise it like this,
"Basically, I became overwhelmed with too many emotions. Some from the test some because I was confused. But anyways I felt the sudden urge to turn. Right in the middle of school! I had to fight myself to stop myself from changing...I need to control this Cameron before I hurt someone or worse..."
Present:
It was the next morning. I had given the invisible wolf a place to stay, my apartment. There was a spare bedroom and she took the offer wearily. I needed to gain her trust if we were to get any information out of her. After laying in bed for a few more minutes procrastinating, I decided to finally make my way to the kitchen.
Standing there was a 5"3 woman. She had her long blonde hair tied up in a ponytail. She was showing most of her tanned skin, only wearing a crop top and shorts. Her top was black and partially covered a large rose tattoo between her shoulders. Her shorts were also black but made from a silky material. Her shorts were tight to her body and complimented her curvy arse. When she realised I entered the room, she turned with a smile. Her beautiful smile showed off her perfect white teeth. Her ears were small and cute and she had a small diamond piercing in each ear. Our eyes locked. Her beautiful oceanic eyes. I was lost in them for a solid minute before she turned back around and offered me some tea. I don't usually drink tea but I stuttered and accepted her offer without thinking.
"How was your sleep?" I surprisingly made the first move. She nodded while finishing her mouthful of tea before answering,
"It was great, the best sleep I've had in weeks" Her voice was angelic and carried a light tone similar to Cameron's. I don't understand how she goes from being the ruthless, dangerous and wild invisible wolf, to this beautiful woman in front of me. Maybe it's an act. Maybe she is just pretending while she is in my presence.
"Good, I'm glad" I continue before asking, "I was wondering...What's your name?" She stopped, unsure of whether to answer. She hesitated before answering,
"Listen I understand you want to know more about me...I will tell you my name but you have to understand that... I don't trust just anyone okay..." I could tell that was her polite way of saying that she isn't ready to talk about herself yet. "Jasmine... my names Jasmine" I smiled at the name. My smile seemed to lift the tension and she smiled back.
"I'm Harry" I respectfully offered. She continued to smile and nodded. "We've been looking for you..." I continued.
"The prophecy right? That's why you were trying to find me." I nodded still intrigued how much she knew. "I know about the prophecy... I don't believe it though." Her words shocked me as she moved to the couch and sat, placing her cup on the coffee table. She could tell I was shocked because she asked, "Do you believe in fate?" Her question confused me but I came up with a reply.
"Sort of... I mean everything happens for a reason" She smiles. That goddam smile.
"I like your view on life, but sadly that's not the case..." Her blunt words hit me hard but made sense.
"I don't understand..." I wanted her to explain more.
"You've read the prophecy right?" Her question caught me off guard and I answered with a nod. "Then you understand what has to happen..." I looked to the floor as I understood what she meant. The prophecy. It says that the invisible wolf, in order to save not just all werewolves, but also all of the supernatural world... must sacrifice her own life...
