The meet

Standing up from the round table, I was intercepted by Cameron. "Are... are you sure you wanna do this H?" He nervously asked. I ignored him and walked past, silently debating with myself whether I was making the right choice or not. "What choice do we have?" I blurted. I had made my decision. The quicker we find her, the quicker we can figure out who she is and what she knows about this prophecy. "H, surely there's another way? It's too dangerous, we don't even know what she's capable of..." "I'm the alpha! What I say goes... Got it!" I snapped at him. His face lit up with fear and I couldn't help but feel bad. I never use being the alpha as an excuse. Who is this invisible wolf and why is she making me this way? "I'm sorry Cameron" I gave him the most sympathetic look I could muster up at this moment in time. "It's fine H... I understand how important this is" He replied. I could tell he was uncertain but he knew that I knew what I was doing... most of the time. As I stepped on the elevator, I saw Cameron start to prepare our bags. There was just one person I had to meet before we set off. Making my way towards the old train station, I saw Mollie leaned up against a pole. She was 5"6 and wore mostly black like me. She had black skinny jeans and a white crop top with a leather jacket similar to mine. Her ego made sure her name was stitched into the back. The outfit complimented her figure and showed off her curves. Don't be mistaken. Mollie could easily take your head off if you make one wrong move. Her long, black hair was curly and reached down towards the bottom of her back. When she noticed me, she stuck her middle finger up. Her usual greeting. I complimented her by doing the same and laughed when she dramatically pulled a shocked face. We always had this kind of banter which is why I fell for her... It would never work... She was in a complicated part of her life and that's why we decided friends would be best. I still cared for her though. "Long time no see" I broke the awkward silence and she replied. "Yeah... how have you been?" She flipped her hair over her shoulder revealing her small and dainty ears. She had three piercings in the one ear. "F...fine" I choked on my words as she smiled at me. Cameron approached from behind and when Mollie noticed she changed her attention to him, allowing me to mentally slap myself for being so awkward. "Cameron! Hey!" Mollie patted Cameron on his shoulder which caused him to flinch. Chuckling, I decided it was time to go. "Follow me," I said. We set off onto a dirt road that would lead us about 10 miles in the right direction before we would have to cut across dense forest and hills. * * * Stopping in the middle of the road, I swung my backpack off my shoulder and grabbed a water bottle. Drinking three little sips, I put the water bottle back and took out the map for the 20th time. "Here" I pointed towards the tree line and motioned for them to follow. Cameron took out his water bottle and took 3 large gulps. Not being a werewolf meant the longer journeys were more tolling on him and he struggled to keep up most of the time. Mollie took out a flask which probably contained vodka or her favourite, pink gin. She took a few sips before offering some to me and Cameron with a smirk. We continued towards the trees and the ground became muddy. Mollie turned into her wolf and landed with a thud on the floor. She stood tall and proud of her pearly white coat. Her fur blowing in the breeze. She looked incredible. She noticed me staring and said, "What? I didn't wanna get my boots muddy" Her voice sounded weird coming from her wolfs jaw but I got used to it over the year I've known her. "Is your wolf still not coming out?" she questioned. The concern in her voice was clear and she actually felt sorry for me. "No... Not since I found out about the prophecy..." I replied, looking at the ground trying to avoid any more conversation on the topic. "We should continue" I started walking ahead of the others and soon after they followed. 7:32 pm As the sun began to set behind the trees, we arrived at what seemed to be a camp. There was a campfire which meant someone was here. Mollie suggested that she run ahead to try and scout the perimeter and make sure no one came or left. As I approached the camp with Cameron following, I smelt something rotten. It must have been the rotting corpse of a deer or other kind of animal. It appeared as if no one was here. The woods were silent and I couldn't sense any other werewolves or anything at all for that matter. I fell to the floor, my body pinned to the ground, realisation struck me as I saw her. The invisible wolf. She had golden-brown fur and pearl white teeth. Her claws were digging into my wrists when the weight was suddenly lifted. Mollie had sprung over Cameron and into the side of the mysterious wolf. The wolf yelped as she was flung into a tree. Surely she would stay down after that... I was wrong. She stood up on all 4 of her muscular legs. Her growl was intimidating and she could clearly look after herself. Mollie came at her for another attack when the wolf struck her down. A claw mark appeared on Mollie's face and she fell to the floor. Before she could get up the invisible wolf slammed another paw into the side of Mollie which caused her to whimper. Seeing Mollie like this, in pain, brought anger from within. I felt a wave of emotion rush through my body at once as I began to turn. I leapt from where I was laying and landed next to the two wolfs. Using all my might, I exerted a loud thunderous growl. Trees swayed and the ground shook as my true alpha showed. The two wolfs immediately stopped and stared. I stood there, large and bold, my midnight black fur and bright silver eyes glared at the two of them. That's when I realised... my wolf had finally returned...
