A DAY LATER
“Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant, Monica?” Ethan asked, staring sadly at me and my hands began to tremble in Nicholas's hand. He glanced at me and held my hand tighter, a silent reminder of his presence there. I looked at my husband and all fear flew away.
“What do you mean, Ethan?” Nicholas asked, feigning ignorance.
“I'm not talking to you Mr Nicholas”, Ethan said, glaring daggers at Nicholas whose jaw was already clenched.
“You can't just walk into my home and start asking my wife silly questions” Nicholas yelled, staring hard at Ethan whose eyes never left me.
“Hey honey, calm down,” I said to Nicholas, who instantly closed his eyes and sighed, trying to hold onto any strand of self-control left.
