LOVE IN A BOARDROOM

"We have to get married" "No that's not possible, this wasn't part of the plan. "I know but that's our only option if not he question why we didn't get married at the time we said we will and we can kiss goodbye to the project and our reputation because I am sure by now Mrs Wilson must have told everybody she knows. "No this can't be happening right now, this is all your fault, I knew this was a bad idea but I let you convince me into doing it anyway, I don't want to get married" I accused him and started pacing around his office. "I don't want to get married either but you can't blame it all on me. "What who came up with this foolish idea in the first place now look where we have landed our self, I know what we can do just call everything off tell them the truth hope full they forgive us and we can all go back to our normal lives. "Are you crazy, we will lose verging not only are we going to lose the project because we lied to not only Mr Wilson and his wife but it will ruin the image of our companies and then we are doomed forever because no one is going to want to work with liers like us, we can't do that. "What do expect us to do now, I don't know. "Maybe we should get married then after sometime we get a divorce. "Do you hear yourself I am not getting married. "Then what do want us to do, that's our only option of getting out of this mess. "Fine then but I don't know how to plan a wedding, we don't even have engagement rings there's a lot to do, talk more of getting it done in a month. I don't think this is going to work out, its already a disaster. "Hey don't put too much pressure, you can alway get help from your friend or sister to help with the planning. "I don't have any friends and don't talk to any of my family. 'Uhh that's sad. "Hey stop taking about my life and focus on the matter at hand. "Right you have to start talking with your family because remember I told then we were going to have dinner with your family and it will be weird they didn't show up to your wedding. "Well I don't know about that yet. "Ok whatever, as for the wedding preparations we can always hire someone to take care of it, since you are always busy but you have to show up to your dress fitting. "How do you know so much about this? "Well I played house with my younger sister all the time and weddings were her favourite part of it, don't worry you will meet her as soon as she gets the news of the wedding. "So we are really doing this. "Yes we are you are going to be my wifey" he said with a wide smile on his face. "Yeah I hate this already, don't call me that anyway I have to leave." I picked up my bag and left "Hey get used to it because you going to be hearing that often, so get into character" he yelled as I walked away. The next day Asher got started with the wedding arrangements and tried convincing me to talk to my family but i wasn't having it, I sent the a sent them a message with the invitation but no response which didn't surprise me since we haven't spoken in six years. A month flew by faster than I expected it got to meet Asher's family, they were shocked at the sudden engagement but they welcomed me with open arms happy to see Asher get married, his mother suggested joining me during my dress fitting and I agreed waiting for them at the boutique "Hey soon to be bride let's pick your dress sorry we are late they was traffic on the way." Asher's sister Ashley announced as they walked in. "No problem lets begin" I said giving her a hug Mrs Smith wanting to get this over with. "Ok but aren't we going to wait for your mother or sister? "No I don't have a sister and my mom won't be able to make it, my dad isn't feeling too well so can't come. "Oh sorry dear are you sure you still want to go ahead with everything since your family won't be around? The wedding is in two weeks. "Yes don't worry they gave me a go ahead didn't want to stop the wedding on their account. "Ok then let's see some dresses. "And oh I would love to go shopping with you after your honeymoon of course. "Ok I would love that" I agreed and went to put on the first dress. "What do you think of this one" twirling around to show them the dress. "Hmmm I am not sure, your the bride do you like it? "Nope its pretty but not my style not feeling it. Let me try another one" going back into the dressing room. "I don't like this one either, I'm going to try another one" I kept trying on dresses for the next hour and still couldn't find anything. At this point I am ready to settle for the next dress. "What do you guys think of this one because this is the last one I am trying on, I am exhausted. "It's beautiful you look like a princess, This is your dress "She's right you look gorgeous, I can't wait till Asher see you he will be stunned." Ashley said "Then it's settled we are taking this dress" i announced Turing back ready to take it off. "Yeah we are ready for a wedding. "Yeah I have to go now, I have got some business to attend to. "Wait I thought we could go out for lunch after this. "I would live to but I have to finish up some work before taking a break for the wedding and honeymoon son I am working on a tight schedule. "Oh ok you can go, I swear you are just like Asher always busy with, well we can go another time since you are becoming part family. "Yes we'll definitely will see you later" I hugged the two of them and left wanting to get out of there getting tired of pretending to be happy about the wedding when all I want to do is run away. The next two weeks came by and its already the wedding day and I already feel sick to the stomach, everyone keeps saying I look like the most beautifulmbride as I got my makeup done which kept adding to my anxiety, all i could think about is jumping through those Windows without looking back but I don't know if that will be a greater scandal than them finding out we faked everything. "Alright we are done now you can put on your dress" the stylist said bringing me out of my thoughts. "Right thanks if you excuse me. "Yes I will be back in a few to do some touch ups." She left the as I began putting on the dress, when they was a knock on the door. "Oh you look beautiful darling" Mrs Smith said walking into the room. "Thanks. "it's such a shame your family couldn't make it due to your dad's illness, they won't see you in this or walk you down the aisle. "It alright they will see the videos and pictures, I am used to it anyway "I mumbled the last part as I knew they weren't coming, didn't respond to my message. "Did you say something? "No" "Hey its time, everyone is ready" Ashley interrupted walking into the room. "Ok omni came to tell you Jase is going to walk you down the asile since your dad can't. "Ok" "Just wait for him, he's on the way." I nodded my head in respond too nervous to talk anymore knowing this is getting real. I didn't wait for long as he was here as soon as she left. "Hey are you ready to go" asher's father asked "Yes lets go" I picked up my bouquet and linked hands with him as we walked towards the garden, we decided to have low key wedding since its all a lie to avoid so much drama when we end this. "Nervous?" Mr Smith asked. "No, maybe a little" he must have felt me fidgeting with fingers. "It's ok that's normal, you know if Asher ever gives you trouble let me I will take of him." Squeezing my arm giving me comfort. "Yeah I will remember that " smiling at him as the doors opened did the music played as we walked down the aisle I avoided looking at Asher instead I looked at the guests, I didn't know half the people here except my assistant Daniel and Mr Wilson and Maria obviously they are the reason for the whole thing, we hired people to play my friends since my family weren't coming. We got the altar and my hands where put in Ashers, I haven't seen him since the family dinner his mother forced us to have before the wedding. "Dearly beloved we are gathered here to join this lovely couple in Holy matrimony, if you have anything against this union come forth or forever hold your peace" the priests said, but I blacked out for the rest not wanting any memories of this.
