It took quite a while before Lila came back to bed. Blake didn’t really register what he was reading on his phone to pass the time, and he sat up straight the moment Lila came back in through the door.
”How did it go?”
Lila winced a little.
”Well she was slightly mad... It went over to speaker phone after a while, because she said my dad had to hear about it too. I guess they didn’t yell at me but they were pretty exasperated. I think they got in the end though, that I didn’t want them to get unnecessarily stressed about the whole thing, and they were a little pacified that I told them as soon as things changed between us.”
Blake held out an arm so Lila could come settle there and lay in the crook of his shoulder.
”Weight off your shoulder at least?”
”Yeah... I’m tempted to postpone
