Chapter 4

Robbie POV*

I looked down at my mate, curled into my arms, and feel contentment from deep within. I was sure that it would be a fight to get her to relax around me after I tried to Mark her the night before.

When she pulled away from me, I nearly lost control of my wolf, Max. He wanted to tear the place apart, but I had reminded myself that I was in neutral grounds, and that most packs don’t follow the old ways anymore. It took more control than I ever thought I had in me to reign Max in and get him to agree to wait until we had gotten her back home.

She avoided making eye contact with me, and even refused letting me into her bed. I was furious, but after learning that she was raised in Moon Stone Pack, it made sense.

The Alpha of Moon Stone Pack has been at the forefront of the ‘Progressive’ new laws. And his father before him was the one who had started pushing for changing the old laws. It disgusted me, but very few Alphas during present times wanted to hear my opinion of the changes.

This morning, she had again avoided eye contact while we packed the car and she said her goodbyes. And once we got in the back seat of the SUV, she sat as far away as she could. Hearing her talk to me with that sassy tone had me wanting to remind her who the Alpha is, but I couldn’t help but smile a little at her while she was ranting. For such a little thing, she had a lot of personality.

So, I told her about me, or at least answered the questions she asked. A she-wolf, even a Luna, has no place knowing all the pack business, but her questions were simple. I could indulge her for something as small as that. And then I could feel through our mate bond as she started to worry. It was almost possible to actually see the wheels turning away in her head, but there is no reason she should have to think so much. I reached over and pulled her to my lap, sure that she would resist. Instead, my mate curled into my chest, took a deep breath, and fell asleep.

There are so many things that my little mate will have to learn about our pack since she was raised without knowledge of the old ways, but I will teach her. The pack is ready for their Luna to come home, and I will have be make sure she is the Luna that our pack needs.
