Greeting the pack

Chapter 5 Arden POV*   I felt the car come to a stop, and opened my eyes to meet Robbie’s. He smirked down at me making me blush before he leaned down to whisper in my ear. “We’re home.” His voice sent shivers through my body, and my ear tingled from where his mouth brushed against it. I untangled myself from his arms and scooched back across the seat to the other side of the car. I heard a small growl come from his lips, but he didn’t show any other protests. Taking a deep breath and straightening myself out, I opened the door. Robbie met me at my door before my feet could even meet the ground. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close as we made our way towards the pack house that towered before us. I tried to pull away to get a better look at the house, but Robbie held me as close as he could. The sparks that ran along my body wherever he touched me were amazing and everything that I had heard it would be. His skin felt like home, and though I loved the feeling, I really wanted to get a good look at my new actual home. “Robbie, you aren’t making it very easy for me to see where I’m going.” I chastised him with slightly joking tone. Before I knew it, he had swept me up in his arms and started carrying me bridal style while muttering something about a sassy mate. I let out a small squeal in surprise having not expected it, but then quickly settled into his warmth. The new position gave me a much better look at the pack house and the group of people standing outside trying to get a look at me. The pack house was beautiful. Like the one back at Moon Stone Pack, it looked to be 4 stories. There was a wraparound porch that was framed intermittently with white columns. The home itself was a simple grey with a dark brown roof. The people outside were so excited that I could nearly feel the emotion rolling off of them. “Welcome, Luna.” One voice called out. Soon other voices joined with their own welcome and all I could do was smile. I felt slightly embarrassed by the fact that my mate was carrying me straight past them, but they didn’t look put out by it, and he seemed to be comforted by carrying me. We entered the pack house, and I noticed that no one from outside had followed us. Robbie set me on my feet and immediately wrapped his arms around me once again. It was like he was afraid that if he wasn’t touching me then I would disappear. I looked up at his face and saw that he was staring at me with a small smile. He didn’t break eye contact as he led me through the house into the game room. I finally looked away to find people staring at us, or more specifically me. “Arden, I want to introduce a few people to you.” Robbie said before pointing to a couple to the right. “This is my Beta Marcus and his mate Amanda. Marcus stayed back to take care of the pack while I went to find you.” Looking at Marcus, it was easy to see why he was Beta. He was about 6 feet tall with dirty blonde hair. It was obvious he was a top warrior since his muscles nearly bulged out of his shirt. He lifted his hand in a small salute and said hello. His mate, Amanda stood slightly hidden behind him. She gave a small shy smile, and waved. Even though I could hardly see her, I could tell she was a beautiful redheaded woman who had freckles splattered across her face. “This is my Gamma Jason,” Robbie said pointing to the man who had driven us back from my old home who gave a nod and a smirk in response to the introduction, “and standing next to him is his mate, Andrea.” “Hi, Luna!” Andrea gave me a big smile and an excited wave, so far being the only other person in the room to speak. She was 5’4” with dark chocolate skin and a shaved head that accentuates her beautiful face. Her curves gave her an amazing figure, but I could also see the strength in her body which showed that she was far from weak. “It is so great to finally meet you and have our Luna be here.” Her voice tinkled through the air, almost like music. And her excitement reminded me of Jess, which had me smiling back at her in response and feeling slightly homesick. I saw everyone tense at her bubbliness. “Ok. Introductions are over,” Robbie grunted out, almost looking mad at Andrea for her excited nature. “Luna is tired, and it has been a long trip.” “I’m ok, Robbie.” I tried to assure him. “Time for bed.” He nearly growled out as I saw his eyes darken. I could see that his wolf was trying to make his way to the surface, so I just nodded my head at him and agree to go lay down. Robbie managed to gain control and gave me a sheepish smile before once again lifting me in his arms and heading for the stairs. I called out a goodbye to the others that were left in the game room, and I heard Andrea give a response before I was out of earshot.
