The dragon within

   I was sitting at the table listening to my mother tell me about how I came about and the pain she endured. I never knew what she went through before this and even though I'm a little upset she didn't say anything before this I understand. Then the thought of how she could live with me under the same roof and did she ever see the monster when she looked at me? I must have let my emotions play on my face because mom cupped her hand to my cheek and said "never once did me or Samuel see anything other than the living man you've become and I'd go through everything a hundred times over if it gave me you." He eye shined with pride so I knew she wasn't lying. The conversation turned into something a little less intense and I think we were both relieved until we heard a powerful howl coming from town. It was so powerful i felt the hairs rise on my body. It was like someone was trying to send a message and I instantly knew it was my Joslin. I looked at my mother who had a look of shock as well and started to cry. "She's alive!  She's really alive! I mean I know you said she was but heading her let us know she's still here!?!" I interrupt her rambling becoming worried about my mate.  

   "Ma what do you mean how do you know what she's saying?" I feel panic begin to set in. "That howl is her standing her ground. I know there will be people in the village who will rebel for her now!" I don't stay to listen to anymore. I swing the door so hard open it knocked a hole in the drywall behind it but i don't even care. I have to get to her! "Baby be careful remember you're just an omega!" I hear my mother yelling as I'm shifting. I make it into town in record time and start to look which didn't take long. There is a crowd gathering in the square and my heart is handing in my chest; not sure to the run but praying that she's still alive. I see a gaurd standing over a body and i could tell it was her. There were a few villagers getting angry and ready to defend the true luna but if they did the people would surely die. How do I calm the situation down? The gaurd was getting ready to kick her after she's already unconscious so I jump in between the two. I caught everyone off gaurd. "I don't think you want to do that." I say standing over her in a protective stance. The guard just laughed "oh i think I really do." 

   I stand up and try to compose myself. "If you touch her Gage I'm sure would love to show you that you don't touch what's his." It makes me sick saying this but I'm hoping he doesn't see through the bullshit I just put on display for everyone to see. I then stand to the side for him to call my bluff hoping like he'll be doesn't. "Here be my guest and see if I'm lying. I'm just an Omega I won't stop you from proceeding." 

   The gaurd just narrows his eyes at me and i thought for sure that we were both goners but to my surprise he just scoffs at me "Well seeing as how you're so worried about it you can take her back to the dungeons." Playing it off as a weak omega I pretend to be in shock. "But sir I can't get her by myself can you give me another person?" The good his annoying laugh sure take otis" He says in return. Now Otis is a nice enough guy but he looks like he'll fall apart if you breath hard enough in his direction but instead of complaining i just bowed my head until he left. When I finally got a chance to look at her I noticed once again she was naked but it wasn't just a couple pair of eyes this was almost the whole town and it infuriated me. Knowing other men were looking at my mate made me want to tear something apart until a gentleman in his twentys brought a blanket to put over her. When I looked at the crowd they were watching her with pride and adoration. 

   Otis goes over and starts to lift her. For an old man he had more strength then i thought he would "I'm so sorry princess you had to go through this." He was saying as he was lifting and i run to the other side. "We thought you ran off and gave up." He was now starting to cry and you could see guilt and shame on his face. I just listened as we walked her to her cell. "We will make this up to you. We all will." We finally get to the prison and i hate taking her back to this hell hole but I'm getting her out as soon as possible. We lay her down on the bed and I can't help it the mate bond is pulling me to her like I'm hypnotized. She's so beautiful; as she's laying there it almost looks like she's glowing the way the sun is coming in. I brush a piece of hair out of her face and i want so badly to kiss her full pink lips but instead I pull the blanket up just a little higher on her to cover as much skin as I can. 

   "I know it's hard seeing your mate go through this" i hear the old man say behind me... crap I forgot he was here. I try to cover my tracks i can't have anyone else know. "I'm not sure I know what you mean. I just feel that women should be respected no matter what their crime is." I say. Otis just laughs "ah boy you might be able to fool the gaurds but I am known as the wise old man for a reason. I can also see that you are not just a regular omega are you?" At this the old man had rendered me speechless and my mouth is gaping like a fish. 

   "It's ok boy I know your precament and why you are so cautious and i don't blame you.  You bring your mother tonight and we'll talk we don't want to risk anyone to over hear." I nod my head to let him know I heard him. We both head back towards the surface when we hear some gaurds talking of the side of the dungeons how Joslin stabbed Gage with a pen and i couldn't help but smile at Otis who was looking at me proudly for what our luna had done. "Go get your mother we may need to do something sooner than we thought." He said as we started to walk the other direction of the gaurds.
