Chapter 2: Part 2

POV Luca and Tamaska

I awoke to the sounds of birds singing and the feeling of clover under my legs.  I sit up and glance around, where are we Tamaska? I ask my wolf.

“I’m not sure Luca, but I don’t believe we are in Bella Luna, let alone your bedroom anymore.”

The sweet smell of strawberries, and honeysuckle fill my nose, I have only ever smelt that sweet delicious smell from one person before and never in a forest.

“Mate” Tamaska says

“That can’t be Azeen is in the hospital still”

“Shift Luca, so I can see where that sweet smell is coming from as well as figure out where we are faster, I don’t sense that we are in harm or anything else that maybe alarming but we are not in Bella Luna and we need to figure out how and why.”

We shift into wolf form, and Tamaska starts sniffing the ground and then the air, he was right, a lot faster and easier with him doing the hunting. I don’t know why this smell is sparking my insides so much, I don’t care that we are in some random forest, which I should care, I should be trying to figure out where we are exactly, but this pull I’m feeling is throwing me off my guard and natural senses.

Next thing I know Tamaska has us in a full sprint, he has the smell and he’s locked on it as well. We ran for what seemed like 2 or 3 hours when we came to an abrupt stop. 

Why are you stopping Tamaska?

Shh Luca, that sweet smell is coming from just beyond these Cedars.

Tamaska slowly inches forward until we are standing in front of this beautiful lake, the water was crystal clear, standing just across the creek that is flowing into the lake is this Breath taking woman, her hair white as snow that fell just below her buttocks.

“MATE” Tamaska says while he jumps over the creek to get beside the woman.

Startling the woman to turn around, Azeen!

“Hello you must be Tamaska, do you know who I am besides your mate?” she giggles while gently placing her hand on Tamaska’s head.

Tamaska just nods and pushes his head more into her hands letting her know that he thoroughly enjoys her touch.

“You must be wondering where you are, and why I am here since you left me at the hospital.”

Tamaska again nods

“We are in Whispering Pines Forest, I’ve been here a few days now learning about myself and the things I am able to do. Your body is still at the house in your bedroom, as mine is still in the hospital. This is my a place between realms, it was created by the Moon Goddess herself, a place for healing and learning, only those of Direct Decent of the Moon Goddess can come here.” Azeen says as she wraps her arms around Tamaska’s neck, “I will give you time Tamaska in a little bit to run with Akela, but right now it would be easier to talk to Luca.”  She gives Tamaska a quick kiss on the snout and turns around to allow us to shift. “There is clothing for you just under that lavender bush.” She points to a bush just off to the side of her.   While Tamaska and I go to shift, Azeen continues to talk; her voice is so calm, so serene. We have never heard a voice like this before almost like an angel. 

As I’m putting on my clothes I ask Azeen “How am I here with you if only those that are direct decedent can come here?”

 “I have permission of the Moon Goddess to bring Tamaska’s and your soul here.  It’s like we are in our physical bodies but we are not.  I have learned so much, I was even able to see my mother and father. They have explained a lot to me about who I am and why the binding spell was placed on me, Akela has explained all about were wolfs and the Mate bond.”

I grab Azeen and give her the biggest hug I could give her, I love her so much and now not only can I tell her but I can show her.  Something is not right though as I’m hugging her, she tenses up, so I pull away, looking in her eyes “Why are you crying? Are you scared of me?”

“I’m crying because I have longed for so long to feel your touch more than just a little sister’s friend, I have prayed for the day when I would feel your love the same way that I love you. Now that I have it, I can’t have it, and it hurts my heart knowing that we will never be able to share our love for each other the way true mates do.”

Puzzled, I take a step back, “What are you talking about Azeen? I am here, and the love I have for you is real and true, I have wanted nothing else but to hold you in my arms the way a lover holds his love since I was 4 years old. You are the only person I have ever wanted at my side; I love you more than life itself. Why can we not have this?”

Azeen takes my hands in her’s and leads me to a beautiful Magnolia Tree and tells me to sit with her. 

“This is why I called you here with me, so we can talk; there is a lot we must discuss and a lot I must explain.  We couldn’t have talked like this back in our human forms as we would have had no privacy. But before we get into all that, I want to say thank you. Thank you for everything over the years that you have done for me, for being there every night after I was hit, to giving me medical attention, for protecting me when I couldn’t protect myself;  for just being you, I now understand how you got in my window.” Azeen giggles

“I would jump through a million windows for you Azeen, you are my person. Now please explain to me what is going on that is causing your heart to be in despair.”

Azeen looks to the ground; I can feel her sadness, its breaking my heart along with her’s. Why does she keep avoiding telling me what it going on? I do not understand….

POV Azeen

I’ve had more than enough time to think about how I was going to tell Luca that I wanted to be a human, that I have a choice to make, and once I became full human our lives could no longer intertwine with each other. Moon Goddess has given me 1 month to make any final decisions. 

Flash back to the day prior in Whispering Pines forest

She was the most captivating angelic person I have ever seen, she was so calm and gentle in the way she spoke, even her movements were like that of a beautiful dance, so elegant.  Though the words she was saying to me should have been breaking my heart they were not.

“You have been through so much in such a short time my child, which is why I am giving you the choice as to your life now. In a month passed you will return here and give me your final decision on whether you want to continue life as a Guardian or return as a human. You must be warned though, if you choose to become a full human this life will cease to exist for you. You will no longer have Akela as your other half; Luca will no longer be your mate. You will not be able to know of this world and the creatures that come along with it. You will become what you were an orphaned child who escaped abusive care takers. You yourself will not remember Carmella or her family, you will not know your Grandmother or Grandfather, nor will you know your Aunty and Uncle; they will remember you but you not them. Do you understand?”

“I understand Moon Goddess, but I don’t think I will change my mind in a month’s time. The only thing I ask is that you help Luca once it’s final, so that his pain is alleviated by another’s love.  I love Akela even though I have only known her a short time, but she understands. I wish nothing but happiness for those that were in my life, but I cannot be this Guardian that you say that I am. Can I ask a favor Moon Goddess?”

“Yes my child”

“Can Luca be brought here so I can explain to him what is going on, I need him to know.”

“You can bring him here, Akela will help you to do so, and before I go Azeen I believe that you will make the right choice when the time comes. You will see!  Blessed Be”

Fast forward to present time

POV Azeen

 “Luca this is so hard to explain, but I need you to listen, let me tell you it all. I need you to understand everything and I need you to know, that I am not doing this because I don’t love and Care for you. But because I need this for myself.”

The look in Luca’s eyes was enough to tell me that he was already hurting; I wanted to ease that pain so I placed my hand on his cheek, comforting him and myself. Sending the most amazing feeling throughout my body, at that moment all I wanted to do was kiss him, and now more than ever be wrapped in his arms. Luca must of felt that same way because he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me onto his lap, staring right in my eyes, those beautiful and alluring Green eyes, they were filled with so much love and admiration. Luca never judged me in any way since the day we met. He always put me first, even when he was needed elsewhere. He’s so irresistible in this moment. The tears just started flowing from my eyes, my voice completely gone, I moved my hands to Luca’s neck like my life depended on it, in this moment I only needed and wanted him, everything else can wait, nothing was more important than the love I wanted to share with this man right in front of me.

Luca whispers in my ear, “Please don’t ever leave me”

That moment I broke, I never wanted to leave him, this was not my intention. All I could do to ease the pain we were both feeling was to kiss him. To show him my love, even if it was for only a short time, the moment our lips touched it was like the world stopped, I could feel his heart pulsating faster with the motion of our lips, I pull away to take a breath and his eyes are darkened and full of lust. I needed more!!!

Third person POV

Luca placed a soft kiss on Azeen’s forehead, then her nose, cheek slowly making his way down to her neck. Azeen started moaning, excitement growing within her, her arousal very evident. Luca moved his hand right hand onto Azeen’s Breast and started rubbing it and playing with her n****e, while his left hand was on her back holding her in place.  Azeen’s moaning now louder as the pleasure was electrifying. As Luca rolls off of me and hands me my clothes, I take the chance to get a good look at him, wow he has a stunning body. There is not one part of him that is not perfect, how can such an amazing man can love someone like me?

“Azeen my beautiful love, please tell me what is on your mind? Why did you bring me here?”

“Can’t we just enjoy the moment we both just had, do we really need to discuss anything right now. We have all the time in the world here in Whispering Pines Forest. Could we just not stay here for the rest of our lives?”

“Azeen you know that we cannot stay here as much as I would love that, we have family in Bella Luna and War that is about to start that we need to be there for. We need to protect our loved ones. Plus our bodies will grow old in hospital beds. I know something is bothering you my love and I can see that it is really hard to discuss, but you brought me here for a reason. So please let’s talk.”

Luca was completely right even though I didn’t want to, we had to talk and I had to explain everything. He may hate me at the end but I need to do what is best for everyone, and me becoming human is the only way to protect all of them.

“Luca, I don’t want you to hate me.”

Luca places his hand on top of mine, “I can never hate you Azeen. Now tell me what is wrong?”

“While I have been here my body and soul has been healing, and as you know I was able to spend time with my parents, Akela and the moon goddess, I have learned so much. Moon Goddess Selene has allowed me to make the decision to either become human as I was, or to become full Guardian.”

Luca looks at me with questioning eyes, “Guardian?”

“Yes, I am a direct descendent of the moon goddess, she is my great great grandmother, which is another story for another time. This does not make me a moon goddess like Selene it makes me a guardian like my Grandmother and mother. Guardian’s posse the powers of witches and fairies, the blood lust and speed of a vampire, we can control the blood lust though, the anger, strength, senses, and shifting of a werewolf, and we can shoot fire and ice like a dragon, we are what your family called me the ultimate hybrid but there is a catch, I also have the powers of the moon and Stars. My grandmother and I are the only ones on the earth to be guardian’s, if I have children they too will be guardians, but as each generation comes along their powers will become dormant, such as my children will posses all the powers except maybe of the dragon, that part of them will go to sleep never to be woken up again. As Guardian’s our lives are always in jeopardy, to either be killed because we are thought to be a threat or to be captured and forced to use our powers for evil. Our jobs as a Guardian are to always protect the ones we love and all others.  We are considered the best warriors of the earth but also the worst because we are born with the purest of hearts, our blood is not of evil.  King Alexander and Queen Novah know this, as well as King Declan, they want my grandmother dead, but me alive, they need me in the land of the fairies so they can harness my powers. They have more than just soldiers on their side they have High Command Elijah at their side. Do you know who High Command Elijah is?”

Luca responds “He is a half breed, similar to a high bred but he posses the powers of the Vampire, Dragon, fairy, and witches. He is able to shift into a dragon as well as command all dragons to do what he wants, and they are at his will, what would he want with you?”

“Well he doesn’t have all the powers, and from what my mother explained he wants them, best way to get my powers is by marking me, I will have to do what he says. Even though I am more powerful in a sense I am not because for 17 years my powers were asleep, and I have had no time to practice or train, making me an easy target. A lot of people can die, not just our kind but humans too, in the war the kings, and queen are planning, all because of me. I cannot allow another person to die because of me. So for that……” I pause and take a deep breath, Luca knew what I was about to say and said it for me,

“You’re choosing to be human, to protect everyone.” The sadness in his eyes was deafening to me, but my heart shattered at his next words, “That will break our mate bond.”

I lower my head, “It will, and I’m so sorry, Moon Goddess has promised to help your pain, and to help you move on with a second chance mate. I will remember nothing of this life Luca.”

“What if I mark you, then High Command Elijah can’t mark you.”

“Yes, that stops part of the threat but that won’t stop him from trying on my children or their children. He’s immortal. It also doesn’t stop King Alexander or Queen Novah.”

“So I have nothing to do with this decision you are making, why would you make love to me if you knew that you were just going to leave anyways, send me back now Azeen.”

“Luca please try to understand..”

“Azeen SEND me back NOW!”

“Yes Luca, as you wish.” The pain he was feeling was radiating off him, I hurt him, I broke his heart, though my intention was never to do that. With a small wave of my hand Luca was gone, and I was alone again.

“Azeen we cannot stay here any longer, we must return to our body.  We are all healed now, and we need to protect our loved ones, and the innocent. You know that King Alexander is starting the war soon, and those in Bella Luna and surrounding packs do not need to be harmed. We have one month to protect them, one month to do our part. Then you will be free, Luca will come around before that month is over and he will understand. Right now he needs time. Now let’s go.”

I could feel Akela's hurt; that she was disappointed in me, my decision ultimately sends her to her death, silencing her forever. This choice had to be made though, no matter what, I needed to be a human, this is the only way I can save everyone. As I wave of my hand the way my mother showed me, I was brought back into the brink of blackness, this time there was no calming feel, it did not feel like a warm embrace. It was just
