Kyle's POV
"Watch out!!!"
I screamed, alerting my driver, but it was too late.
I felt the impact of what had just happened as Mr. Bricks struggled to hit the brakes.
My driver had just hit a girl who had obviously walked into the street without checking the traffic lights.
I was pissed, this was going to cause a lot of issues.
First, the meeting with Mr. Arnold was impossible.
Secondly, I hoped I was not dealing with some gold digger stalker lady who knew my car and had deliberately walked into the road just so she could get a chance to be with me.
With all these thoughts going on in my head, my driver rushed out of the car, picked up the girl and put her in the car.
Stunned, I shifted away angrily. "What on earth are you doing Mr. Bricks?"
"Sir Kyle, we cannot afford to have murder on our hands, we need to get the lady to the hospital ".
Scoffing, I leaned as far away as I could from the lady, whom Mr. Bricks had put right beside me.
"A lady indeed, someone who probably is trying hard to get me to notice her" I hissed in annoyance.
"Sir Kyle, I don't think we should conclude so fast", Mr Bricks responded, increasing the speed of the car.
"You have been with me so long and yet you still think that there are ladies out there who wouldn't do something stupid to get me to notice them" I blurted out.
"I mean remember the one who hid in the wardrobe in my hotel room in Spain or the other one who snuck into my office during the weekend".
"Or is it the one who entered my car boot?" I recounted trying to make him see the angle I was speaking from.
Shaking his head, he smiled as he turned off the ignition and stepped out.
Because of my concerns, I had not noticed he had gotten to the hospital until he opened the door.
He carried the girl out, rushing to the entrance of the hospital, leaving me no choice but to follow him.
By the time I caught up with him, the Doctor was already with him, perks of being associated with the Davis'.
I was in time to hear Mr. Bricks explain the situation.
"Doctor Evans, good evening", I greeted him, shaking his hands.
"I don't know what Mr. Bricks told you, but this lady, whosoever she is, ia a stalker."
"Because who walks into the road without making sure it is safe to cross, if not a crazy stalker?"
The Doctor looked up at me smiling. "Stalker or not, Mr. Davis she is in need of immediate care".
"We wouldn't want a murder on our hands now, would we?" he asked, trying to get me to reason with him.
"It's fine, treat her".
"I will settle the bills when we get back".
"Uhm, Mr. Davis, I'm afraid that would not be possible".
"And why is that?" I asked angrily.
"Well, we need to get in touch with a relative or somebody who will be here if she wakes up, so till we are able to do so you have to wait," he replied apologetically.
"What the hell, you mean I might just be here all night?"
I turned to Mr. Bricks. "This is your fault, you should have left her".
"And risk running into trouble with your uncle?" he replied, gazing at me questionably.
Angrily, I stomped my feet as I walked towards a chair to wait.
"Fine, you won, you have made your point". I grumbled.

Two hours later, I was still sitting in the hospital.
None of the people the hospital had called concerning the girl had picked so here I was angry that some girl had ruined my chances of meeting Mr. Rivers.
Mr Bricks had finally nodded off after struggling to stay awake.
He had gone through so much stress today that I decided to let him be.
Bored, I stood up and walked into the girl's room.
I took the seat beside her bed as I fumed at her still figure, willing her to wake up.
Sure, she was beautiful, but that didn't give her the right to mess up my day.

Beep!
Beep!
Beep!
The sound of the monitor woke me up.
I sat up, staring at the lady as I realized she was struggling to open her eyes.
Quickly, I pressed the bell to alert the Doctor, who came rushing in a few seconds later.
Some moments later, the lady had opened her eyes, asking where she was and why her head hurt.
I was angry, she had walked into the road herself, and now she had the audacity to ask why her head hurt.
After a while, the nurses left as the doctor called me aside.
"The lady is okay, she says her name is Layla".
"Though her speech is a bit slurred, she is fine". "In one or two more days here, she will be back on her feet" he patted me encouragingly.
"Thank you, Doctor, I will talk to her and come settle the bills".
"Talk to her?" he asked, looking at me confusedly.
"Yes, talk to her, remember no one has shown up since she got here, I need to ask her who I can contact".
"Alright, just be patient with her, she is still a bit slow".

"Well done to you for landing yourself in the hospital just so you could get the attention of a man" I scoffed, looking at her with distaste.
"Getting the attention of a man, landing myself in the hospital, what do you mean?" she asked.
I scoffed, she had the audacity to look genuinely confused.
"Go ahead, pretend that what I just said doesn't make any sense to you".
"I'm sorry, but it doesn't," she said, giving me a blank look.
"So you didn't stalk me?"
"No I did not" she said, rolling her eyes.
"You did not walk into the road deliberately, just to get my attention?"
"For heaven's sake, can you stop with all these questions".
"Why on earth would I want to attract your attention?"
"Who the heck are you that I would stress myself to get your attention?" she asked in one breath, clearly frustrated.
I couldn't believe it, there were people who existed that didn't know me.
"Do you follow the news?" I asked one last time just to confirm that Mr. Bricks had actually been right, she was definitely not a stalker.
"Not really, can you tell me how I ended up here, the Doctor told me it was you who brought me in", she asked with a blank expression.
"Wow, I can't believe you don't know me" I responded disregarding her question.
