Avery's POV I opened the door as quietly as I could. I couldn't let them hear me. I had to find them separately in order to make this work. I couldn't take them both on at the same time. The house was dark and a little cold. It was also dirty. The pile of dust on the floor left my footprints and, not to mention the cobwebs in every corner and the dead bugs lying on the ground, was enough to make me want to run the hell out of here. I am sure that it was filled with mice and rats, and God only knows what else. I took the lightest steps that I could, so the floor didn't creek.
