"Where are we going?" I asked Hudson as we walked hand in hand through Central Park. It was late afternoon and the park was busy as people were walking around, others playing with their dogs. It was our first date and Hudson had been quiet about what we're going to do today but so far the walk around the park was shaping up to be nice. Who would have known last week that Hudson and I would end up like this. The thought made me laugh and he squeezed my hand. "What's so funny?" "Nothing, I just never thought that I'd be in friggin Central Park on a first date with you. It's pretty funny." He winked at me then gestured towards a place on the grass. "We have arrived." I looked and saw a blanket in the middle with roses and a picnic basket. It looked like something out of a movie. "Hudson, Hudson, Hudson…." I tsk'd, "Who knew that you had the potential to be so romantic. "I have a lot of skills you don't know about." he said as he took a seat then lightly pulled me down with him. "How did you get all of this done anyway?" I asked then thanked him as he handed me a glass of champagne. "Amy set it all up." He shrugged, "Told her I was taking a special lady out and she was more than happy to help." "To new beginnings." he toasted and we clinked our glasses together. The picnic was going well, I had a smile on my face the entire time. It was so hard to believe that just a few days ago I was only friends with Hudson now it felt like so much more. It made me feel giddy and warm inside. "What are you thinking about?" Hudson asked "You're re sitting there with this huge grin on your face." I lay down on the blanket and looked up at the reddening sky. He followed suit then pulled me to him. "We've been friends for all of our lives, you know me better than anyone." I turned to look him in the eyes "But you don't know how I am with the people I date. I'm clingy, needy and I want constant attention, I'm sometimes annoying and I-" "Shh," he cut me off "I know all there is to know about you Kat and I'm not scared of any of it, I want you and I to work and it will, quit overthinking it." I simply sighed and lay my head on his forehead. "A second ago you were all smiles, tell me about what you were thinking about then." "I was just thinking about you… Us. That's it." I answered. He lifted my chin up with his finger then kissed me. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy. I never knew that one could even feel like this. "You undo me Katleen Moreno." He whispered after pulling away. We stood up after a few more minutes of cuddling then packed up our little picnic and walked back home hand in hand and all felt right with the world.
