Sienna couldn’t stay away. After overhearing the conversation about the rogue wolves, she knew she had to find the triplets. Something was happening, something far bigger than the mysterious bond between them. She found them after school, heading toward the woods that bordered the town. They moved with purpose, their expressions dark and focused.
“Aiden,” Sienna called out, jogging to catch up to him. He paused, turning slowly to face her.
“I thought you wanted nothing to do with us,” he said, his voice edged with bitterness.
Sienna ignored the sting of his words. “I overheard some students talking about rogue wolves. What’s going on? Is the town in danger?”
Asher, who had been walking ahead, stopped and looked back at her with a slight smile. “Eavesdropping now, are we?”
Axel said nothing, but his sharp gaze fixed on her, unreadable as always.
Aiden sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s not your concern, Sienna. This is our problem to handle. We’re Alphas. It’s our job to protect the pack.”
“But I’m connected to you now, right?” she countered. “Isn’t that what you said? That I’m part of your world?”
Aiden’s jaw clenched, frustration flashing in his eyes. “That was before—”
“Before you rejected me?” Sienna cut in, her voice harder than she intended. “I don’t care about the bond, but I’m not just going to stand by while something threatens the town.”
The silence stretched between them, thick with tension. Finally, Axel spoke, his voice calm and steady. “She’s right. Whether we like it or not, she’s involved now.”
Aiden glared at his brother, but eventually he gave a resigned nod. “Fine. You can stay. But don’t get in the way.”
Sienna didn’t know whether to feel relieved or more anxious, but as they disappeared into the trees together, she realized this was just the beginning of something far more dangerous than she could have imagined.
