Chapter 10: A Growing Threat

224 Words
Even as she tried to return to her normal life, Sienna couldn’t escape the pull she felt toward the triplets. Their rejection left her conflicted, but it didn’t change the fact that something was happening between them. And it wasn’t just personal. The air in Silver Ridge felt tense, as though something dangerous was brewing beneath the surface. She felt it the next day at school, the way the other students whispered in the halls, their eyes darting nervously toward the Stone brothers. The triplets were on edge too, their normally calm, dominant presence shadowed by an unease Sienna couldn’t place. Something was wrong. That afternoon, after school, Sienna overheard a conversation between two students who were talking about wolves—rogue wolves. She pressed her back against the wall, listening in. “They say another pack’s been seen near the ridge,” one boy said. “The Stone triplets have been dealing with them for weeks now.” Rogue wolves. A rival pack. It made sense now—the tension, the way Aiden, Asher, and Axel had seemed distant, even more guarded than usual. The town was in danger, and the triplets were at the center of it all. Sienna knew she should stay out of it, but something deep inside her told her this wasn’t just their fight. It was hers too.
