Chapter 9: Rejected

329 Words
Sienna couldn’t stay in that mansion. She couldn’t process everything the triplets had just told her. Her heart pounded, her thoughts a chaotic storm. She didn’t believe in fate, and she certainly didn’t believe she was destined to be anyone’s mate, let alone three Alphas who were nothing but strangers to her. Pushing past them, she stormed toward the door, her voice shaking. “I’m not staying here. I don’t care what kind of bond you think we have.” Aiden’s eyes darkened as she made a move to leave. “You can’t run from this, Sienna.” “Watch me,” she spat, her anger flaring up. She wasn’t some pawn in their supernatural game. She was a person with her own life, her own choices. But before she could make it out the door, Aiden was there, blocking her path. His expression was torn, as though he was fighting some internal battle. “This bond is stronger than you realize. We feel it, and so will you, in time. But you deserve more than this,” he said, his voice gruff. “More than us.” His words stopped her cold. “What?” “I’m rejecting the bond,” Aiden said, his jaw clenched. “You don’t have to be with us. I won’t let fate take that choice from you.” Sienna stared at him, her breath catching in her throat. She didn’t understand. Aiden was pushing her away, giving her an out, but the weight of his rejection made her chest tighten with an unexpected sense of loss. Before she could respond, Aiden stepped back, his gaze distant and cold. “Leave if you want. It’ll be easier for all of us.” Sienna felt her legs move on their own, taking her out of the mansion and into the night. But as she walked away, the emptiness that settled in her heart told her that leaving was the last thing she truly wanted.
