Chapter 8: Bound by Fate

314 Words
The revelation hit Sienna like a punch to the gut. Her entire life, she had believed she was normal—just another girl living an ordinary life. Now, the Stone triplets were telling her she wasn’t just connected to their world, but that something inside her linked her to them. It was too much to process. She stood in the center of the room, trying to wrap her head around the impossible. “I don’t understand. How can I be connected to you? I’ve never even known about werewolves until today.” Axel, who had been silent most of the time, stepped forward. His dark eyes were softer than usual, almost empathetic. “It’s not something we can fully explain either, but we feel it. The bond. It’s undeniable.” “The bond?” Sienna repeated, her voice trembling. Asher gave her a gentle smile, though there was sadness in his eyes. “The bond between a wolf and their mate.” Sienna’s mind reeled. Mate? That word, loaded with meaning, carried weight she wasn’t ready to bear. Her gaze darted between the triplets, and suddenly the pull she felt toward them made an eerie kind of sense. But how could she be their mate? All three of them? “No,” she said, shaking her head. “This has to be some kind of mistake. I’m not… I’m not a werewolf. I’m not your mate.” Aiden’s jaw tightened, his frustration barely concealed. “We didn’t choose this, Sienna. The bond is determined by fate. It’s not something we control.” Sienna backed away, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t accept this. She couldn’t be bound to them, tied to this dangerous, unpredictable world. But even as she tried to reject it, the truth settled deep inside her, undeniable and terrifying. Fate had chosen her, whether she liked it or not.
