Fenn wrapped her long fingers around the chipped mug Alec had spitefully given her. He’d kept the unchipped one for himself. She stared down into the tea, frowning a little. Alec recognized it as a prelude to speaking and let her be, nudging the sugar bowl over toward Will as he waited. He wasn’t angry with Grant, really. He trusted him, both personally and professionally, and if he’d gone AWOL it was for a good reason. Alec just wished Grant had confided in him before he’d made a break for it.
