Chapter 21: Reconvening Lew Lew arrived at Wapping shortly after nine. Lew used the phone in the laundry downstairs, but it wasn’t working again, and Alec had telephoned through to the grocer’s two doors down from the laundry and had them send a message round. He parked the bike at the back of the station. It looked like both Alec and Grant were here. Grant must have sorted out his family emergency. He took his cap off as he entered the building and shoved both it and his cycling goggles into his bag as he climbed the stairs.
