AKIN  We stepped into the hall, maid of honour and best man first, followed by the rest of the bridal party and groomsmen before the couple and danced our way to the podium set aside for the bride and groom. Stella, the maid of honour kept trying to rub herself all over me, I kept dancing out of her reach till we got to the front. Once Femi and Toyosi were seated, I dashed off to sit with the rest of my family at the table reserved for the family. I couldn't stand more of Stella's seductive attempts. I felt a tap on my back, I turned expecting to see Stella again but it was my cousin. I got up and pulled him in a half hug. "Hey Nathan, glad you could make it," I gave him a pat on the shoulder and he grinned. "Yeah, glad I came for this one or else I'd have missed those moves you just dropped," he teased and I chuckled. "I've still not forgiven you for missing my wedding though," I wagged a finger at him and he shook his head incredulously. "Jesus Akin, that's been years na." He said and I laughed at the face he made. He's always had an expressive face. "I'm just playing with you man. You came alone?" I asked. "No, I came with a date but I lost her. She's got to be around somewhere, speaking of which I'm going to go look for her," he said and greeted my parents seated with us before darting off. Timi patted her baby bump and shook her body to the music playing while seated. Ifeanyi, her husband rushed to her side and reprimands her for stressing the baby and I rolled my eyes at their antics. After she got over her crush with Femi, she realised Ifeanyi had always had a thing for her, next thing I knew she was pregnant and they were engaged. Turned out they'd been dating lowkey for a long time without me noticing, their affair only came out when she got pregnant and she absolutely refused to get married with a pregnancy. She wanted an elaborate wedding with the fancy dress and what not, luckily for her Ifeanyi could afford it being an actor and all. "Where did Nathan run off to?" Mum asked and I shrugged. "I don't know but he went looking for his date, he's been going on about her for years now. Thank God we'll finally meet her today," I rolled my eyes and mum laughed. Being on the receiving end of his lovelorn self a few times, she knew what I was talking about. Refreshments were served and I popped a samosa in my mouth, I was so famished I couldn't wait for the meal to be served. This wedding scene struck too close to home and if I wasn't the best man and Femi wasn't my best friend, I wouldn't even attend the wedding– probably just send a wedding gift and a card to make up for my absence. I spotted Stella making her way towards me and I sprang out of my seat. She won't even let me eat in peace. Emeka stood beside Femi whispering something to him and I used them as an excuse to make my escape before that barracuda gets here. "Hey guys what are you whispering about?" I asked when I got to them and Emeka chuckled. "Nothing. I've just noticed how you've been running from Stella all day, come on man if she wants it just give it to her," he laughed at his bad attempt at a joke and Femi joined in. Toyosi hits him on the head with her hand fan. "Stop it you two, stop teasing the poor guy," she said. "Come on love, it's really funny. You should've seen the way he's been running around like a scared chicken all day," Femi explained and she frowned at him. "How did you notice all that? I thought you couldn't take your eyes off me all day?" She asked with a questioning brow. "No, its not....I mean....but he did..." he stammered. "Ehn ehn e don happen oya explain," I laughed at him and he glared at me. Someone called my name and I turned back; it was Nathan holding a woman that has her dress hooked to a chair. I couldn't see her face since she was bent over the chair. "Desire meet my cousin, he's the best man," Nathan introduced and she looked up. Time just froze, Nathan kept talking but I couldn't hear any of what he was saying, my only focus on the woman in front of me. She looked even more beautiful than I remembered; she stared back at me in equal shock and I smiled. She blinked and everything imploded, Nathan's voice became louder than ever. "....she's the one I told you about." He said and my head snapped to his face. "Wait what?" I shouted and he frowned. "She's the one I told you about," he repeated. "I heard you the first time," I glowered. My wife is the woman my cousin is in love with? The woman he's been crazy about for the past three years? It was just so ridiculous to think about I started laughing. He looked at me like I'd suddenly gone crazy; even I felt crazy. This was some messed up s**t. The first time I will see my wife in almost four years and it's at a wedding with her as my cousin's date.  She pulled the dress away from the chair and it tore, he bent down to examine the tear and her leg came out through the slit on her dress, exposing her flesh. All the laughter evaporated from my body, my left eye twitched and I clenched my fist to prevent myself from grabbing him by the neck for touching her. "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned and she nodded at him, she didn't even spare me a glance after her initial shock. She kept her head down. Oh God, please don't tell me she's been f*****g him. Images of the both of them rolling in bed flooded my head and I suddenly wanted to murder my cousin. Despite the air conditioning I was standing not far from, my whole body was engulfed in heat with the anger that coursed through me. I left the both of them before I do something crazy and ruin my friend's wedding. I stormed through the rows of chairs out of the hall and tried to calm myself down. Emeka suddenly appeared in front of me with a dazed look on his face. "That just happened or was I seeing things?" He asked and it just brought the whole thing back. "No, you weren't," I snapped, "My wife has been f*****g my cousin while I've been running from every available woman there is all these years."  I pointed my index finger at him, "You know what, she's going to get it from me today." I yelled and headed back into the hall. I swear I've never been so angry in my life. I scanned through the rows of seats for either Desire or Nathan but they were nowhere to be found. I headed back to the stage and Femi told me they left immediately I left them. I didn't need to search for them, I knew Desire wouldn't wait for me to come back and give her a piece of my mind. Damn this stupid hall for having more than one entrance. "Did you find them?" Emeka asked while panting like he just ran for miles. "No, they've gone." That fact left a bitter taste in my mouth and I scowled. Still I looked around searchingly just in case by sheer luck, they were still here. Stella waved at me from her seat with the rest of the bridesmaids and an idea came to my mind. Desire might not be here to see this but I'll at least satisfy my libido that I've laid dormant for so long. "Where are you going?" Emeka grabbed my arm when I moved. "Weren't you the one who told me to give her what she wants?" "Yes but I was only joking." He said with a confused look on his face. "Well if she didn't keep herself celibate all these years, why should I?" I tugged my arm free and walked up to Stella.
