Chapter 20 

Asylum

   Violet walked to her cabin where there were a very tense scout and a crying woman.  She couldn't have been much older than 18. She had long black hair and dark eyes with gold flecks.  She was devastatingly beautiful but for some reason she made Violet feel uneasy.  Eli was right beside her surveying the scene. Violet decided to speak to the scared young lady.  She bent down and put on a reassuring smile. "Hello, I am Alpha Violet. May I ask for your name?"  Violet asked gently.

    "I am Liz." She said trembling.  Violet linked her men Step back I will talk to her but this may be making her uneasy. They all took a step back except for Eli. 

Eli, I get am unsure about this young girl something doesn't sit right. Violet linked.

    "It's nice to meet you, Liz. Can you explain what brings you to my land?" Violet said with slight authority.

She is probably just scared. Let's hear her out. Eli responded

     Liz took a deep breath and looked up slightly through her long lashes. I can audibly hear the man sigh in compassion Violet thought.  Don't trust her Vi Lettie groaned. "I was running away from a rogue Alpha who was trying to r**e and kill me.  Please take me in I can't go back out there." Liz said laying it on thick and Violet was the only one noticeably weary.

  "Which way did he go?" Violet asked her.

"North he heard your men and ran off." Liz replied softly "I owe them my life.  I will do anything if you will give me shelter even for just a little while."  

    She seems sincere but we could let go back out there and risk her life, or you can show the world how generous of an Alpha you are. Eli linked her. Putting a reassuring hand on the small of her back.

    Violet put out her hand to the young lady. "Eric go get a blanket from the cabin she must be cold." A young man ran to the cabin and grabbed a blanket giving it to her.  "Why don't you join us for the night and we can discuss arrangments in the morning." 

    "Thank you Alpha you are very kind.  Oh, you are all dressed up did I interrupt anything." Liz asked feigning concern.  

    "No, we just finished up.  Have you ate we have leftover food back at the packhouse." Violet replied.  When they started walking Liz fell suddenly and Eli caught her.  Violet held back a growl. "I am sorry my legs are so weak from running so long on.  I have not eaten in a week."  

    Violet looked shocked. "They didn't feed you?" Liz shook her head no.  Eli still holding her up said  She is shaking like a leaf Vi. She must have been put through something. Violet nodded "Eli will carry you to the house." She said through gritted teeth. "The rest of you please scout for any rogues nearby that may be involved in this." She commanded. With that, they all ran off into the woods while Eli, Violet, and Liz made the trek back to the packhouse. I don't like this Lettie whined. Me either it is killing me seeing another female in Eli's arms. Violet told Lettie.  Just then Violet saw Liz snuggle into her Eli's neck Violet let out a warning growl. Liz shrunk into Eli's chest from the sound. Eli stared at her wide-eyed. "Sorry but you are getting a little too cozy with my mate and Lunar." Violet stated flatly. 

"Sorry" she whispered, "I can walk if you need me to I think." Eli gave Violet a pointed look. 

    "No, it's fine just keep in mind that I am right here and my wolf is not enjoying this." Violet said through gritted teeth.

Play nice she has been through a lot. Remember you are the only woman I want. Eli minded.

    I don't like this. One more lovely day tainted by other wolves! I am over it.

   knock knock. "Come in." Violet was sitting in her office going over treaties and other various paperwork she needs to know. 

"You wanted to see me Alpha?" Liz says coming into the office.

"Yes please take a seat," Violet said. Liz sat down on one of the leather chairs in front of the desk. "So how have you recovered after last night? I assume you slept well and got breakfast?" 

    "Yes, Alpha it was more then I could have asked for." Liz replied. Laying it on thick again Violet thought to herself. 

"I am going to play it straight with you Liz. I hope you return the favor.  You don't need to suck up to me.  I also get the feeling you are here for more than just asylum. So let's just drop the pretenses you tell me what you are really looking for?" Violet said matter of factly.  

    Liz had a look on her face like she tasted something sour. "Whatever do you mean Alpha? Are you accusing me of something?" 

    "Knock off the act sister. I am not a stupid guy.  Explain yourself and maybe then you can gain my trust and stay with my pack as a guest." Violet spat.

"I was running from a rogue Alpha. I am not lying about that. However, I knew where I was running.  I had heard about the strongest pack in the Northwest and decided I wanted to be a part of it. My plan was to find a man and mate with him to become pregnant so I would have to be allowed to stay. So now you know." Liz said flatly.

    "Well, Liz I can not stop you from finding someone. However, you must heed my warning if you hurt anyone from my pack I will kill you.  Also, you must work while you are here with us. In our pack, everyone pulls their own weight.  You will work as a maid while here do you understand?" Violet said with all the authority of an Alpha.

"I understand clearly." Liz stood up and left.

Dad, she is not as nieve as you think she is. but don't worry I covered our tracks. Liz mind linked her update.

Good girl Lizbeth our plan is ongoing to work well. Bacchus replied.
