The Threat

Chapter 16 The Threat

    Eli jumped up quickly putting himself between Violet and the unknown threat.   He listened carefully and sniffed the air.  "We are really close to the boundary line of our territory. How stupid am I to think this was a safe place." He said more to himself than to Violet.

    "I know that smell," Violet said quietly. "It was in the woods the other day when I was out for a run."

"You went out for a run by yourself?" Eli growled.

    "I don't think this is the time for a lecture." She hissed "I can the visiter coming closer."

    Suddenly a man walked through the brush.  Eli growled menacingly. Violet peaked out from behind her mate and felt her knees go weak.  The man was dressed nicely but when she saw his jet back hair, yellow eyes, and a dangerous-looking grin she knew who he was. Her attacker.

    "Well, well, well. I didn't expect to stumble upon young love today."  Bacchus said slyly.  "I was just out for a little stroll. Looks like I found something I have been looking for." 

"You are on Blue Lake territory and trespassing. You need to leave Bacchus. You have no claim here."  Eli said with authority.  He had defensive stan ready for a fight.

    "Oh really. Who's going to stop me? It's just you and our beautiful Violet here.  In fact, I have been testing this border for days now and I have yet to see a scout from your pack yet." He said in a condescending tone. "What is it that Alpha Hazel used to say?  Oh yes, make sure to watch the Anthony Lake boarder.  It seems to me you guys are failing her."

Eli mind linked with Violet Back up is coming. "We are very capable, Bacchus. I am giving you a chance to leave. Or I will kill you." Eli said aggressively.  

    "Hahahaha. That is so funny pup." This sent a jolt of anger through Violet. "Your father couldn't even kill me."

    "If he doesn't kill you then I will! Now leave my land before I rip your head off." Violet growled with all the authority of her Alpha bloodline. She stepped beside Eli unafraid of the man who killed her Uncle. That's when she heard the pounding feet of her Pack.  She stood tall with all the power pulsing through her veins. "I said leave." She took a step towards the man than the loudest most menacing growl ripped from her chest.  Sending a shiver through Eli and Bacchus backed up.  

"You will be mine, Violet.  I will be back and you will not even see what's coming. Just like your Mother." He spat. Violet started towards him and he quickly turned around and shifted running quickly out of the pack boundary. The warriors appeared behind Eli just in time to see Bacchus run in fear.

    Violet turned around to see thirty men standing behind Eli. "Let me introduce to you our rightful Alpha Violet Davenport." Eli said. He then crossed his arm over his chest and bowed. Say something Violet. Eli linked.

    "As your rightful Alpha. I decree that Bacchus is enemy #1. If he crosses our boarders you may kill him on site no questions asked.  If I find him I will kill him and I will show him no mercy." Violet was the most confident she had ever been.  This feels so right she thought to herself. I am Alpha. You are amazing. Violet heard Eli's voice in her head and smiled. "Thank you for coming to my aid." With that, all thirty men crossed their right arms over their chests and bowed to their Alpha.
