Chapter 9 The Attack

    One Month Earlier

        Sirens sound from far away.  "Pick her up!" Growled Bacchus.  "We need to take her with us."  

"Yes Alpha" replied a man with dirt all over his face and twigs hanging from his shaggy hair.  He bends down and picks up Violet.  Violet doesn't move.  "I think she is in shock sir."  hissed the man.

"Take her over to the trees we will figure it out in a minute," Bacchus replies with no emotion. Once they were safely behind the trees Bacchus surveys their catch. "Tell us darling do you know who we are?" He asks with indifference.   There was no reply.  "Come on honey wheres that sparkle we saw earlier?" he says in a fake sweet tone. Still nothing.  

"Alpha maybe we should go the sirens are about 10 minutes away."  said the dirty man.

"Shut up Clayton! I didn't say you could speak." and with that Bacchus smacks Clayton across the face.  

"Yes Alpha, Sorry Alpha" Clayton whimpers.  

    Bacchus picks Violet up and holds on to her face making her look at him with her catatonic eyes.  "oh sweet thing don't worry I have plans for you.  Just give me a smile." the rotten flesh smell of his breath seems to awaken something in Violet she blinks then with recognition in her eyes she spits right in his face.  "You are going to regret that." Bacchus lets go and kicks Violet in the stomach sending her flying further into the woods.  She screams out in pain while trying to stand back up.  Bacchus is already there and grabs her hair pulling back to her feet.  "I like them with a little fire in their souls." he snarls then goes in for a kiss pinning her to a tree. She bits his lip which makes him laugh. Grabbing her by the neck he lifts her off the ground "You will be mine Violet Davenport! Or you will end up just like-"

"Alpha, they are turning down into the parking lot," Clayton shouts.

"Help me! Over here." Violet yells trying to get their attention.  Bacchus covers her mouth and Violet begins to shake while clawing at his face.  

"Your Uncle said you were human but let's find out my precious Violet." Just then Violet's thumb makes contact with Bacchus' eye and presses hard. He drops Violet "You little bitch." 

Violet takes off running as fast as she can to the parking until something knocks her unconscious.  With a vicious laugh, Bacchus circles the sleeping Violet. "I told you, you are coming with me."  Just then a howl sounds behind him.  Bacchus turns around to see two giant wolves stalking over to him.  "So she has a guard, does she? Learned from last time didn't you Christoph? To bad you couldn't save her mother!" He jumped towards the wolves phasing in mid-air.  

Christoph fell to the ground snarling but was able to dig his teeth into Bacchus' shoulder and flip him over. Christoph mind linked with his son "Eli drag her to the edge of the tree line while I have him distracted." Christoph lounged towards Bacchus when another wolf slammed into him from the side.  

    Eli trying to stay focused snuck to were Violet la, looking so fragile.  He softly grabbed the collar of her jacket and pulled her towards the parking lot.  When he heard the sound of a neck-breaking he turned to see Clayton lying motionless on the ground. His father still fighting Bacchus.  He shifted back and put on the shorts hanging around his neck picked her up and ran to the police.  

    "Help, please over here." He yelled while making his way to the officers.  They came running over to him. "Quick call for an ambulance" an officer shouts while he looks at the pair.  "Put her down.  Where did you find her?"  the officer asked Eli.  

"I was walking down the road and heard screams, sir.  When I found her she was like this and a man was running in that direction."  Eli said pointing towards the back of the bait shop.  Eli mind linked with his dad "Dad get out of there now they are going to search the forest."
