The konlu forest was calm and peaceful. The slight rays of sunlight that peeked through the huge trees gave it an even more beautiful appearance.
There was a particular tree, huge and wide, thick and rough. Its branches were filled with leaves of peculiar looks. The leaves were of an azure color with light blue vein like patterns all over them. When held it felt dry to the touch but in the mouth it turned into a sea of water.
Two men sat under the tree with memories of their previous ordeals firmly etched in their minds. They conversed like they were friends for centuries.
As they talked a particular topic bugged kulin and he felt it was troublesome but he brought it up anyway. “sir just-“ he was about to begin when Justin cut him off. “uh uhn. I think we're last you calling me sir. Just call me justin” he smiled, he couldn’t let someone he had just gone through life and death with to keep calling him sir.
Kulin smiled and continued “Justin, do you perharps…like Matilda?” he finally said it. Justin's smile vanished, what a sudden question. He answered in a really serious voice “yes, I do”.
The answer drew kulin into silence, he had guessed so. Well, what could he do? It wasn’t like he had a chance anyway. A wry chuckle came from kulin in response to Justin “well what can I say. All the best to….” Suddenly a Hand came rufflung up his hair followed by Justin’s voice “ kidding! I don’t have the feels for her man. Don’t be so sad” he had just been toying with kulin.
Truth be told, Matilda was a really beautiful girl but that d idnt mean he'd fall for her immediately. It would take a lot more than that. Besides…he still couldn’t get over that incident.
Kulin’s eyes immediately brightened up but he tried to hide it and he changed the topic. “pfft, who said in sad. Let’s take the herbs and get going. We can’t stau long, we're lucky the mother didn't appear….” He said as he took a bag and started picking the leaves from the tree.
Justin for up and joined him in the act. There were probably hundreds of dry water herbs there. Kulin's mind was on fire. All he think of was “we're freaking rich!”. All these problems originated from just one dry water herb to show it’s importance. Now if he brought back, say…two hundred dry water herbs. They would probably be the richest people in the village!
The two packed and packed until no sign of any herb could be seen. “alright it’s time to go” kulin said to Justin with a deeply satisfied look on his face. They had been successful, all that remained now was just to get back to the village. Kulin gathered his arrows from the carcasses of the animals while Justin waited with the bag of herbs.
Hehehe, what do we have here brothers?”
“ah, it’s two defenseless sheep waiting to be slaughtered”
“ Tsk Tsk, then what are we waiting for?”
“ Lets drink some blood!”
Four men appeared out of the blue. The first had a lanky build with tattoos all over his face and a crazy look in his eyes. The second was dark skinned with a bald head. The third was the tallest with rough beards. The fourth’s face couldn’t be seen as he wore a hoodie.
The men were shirtless with different symbols on their chests and a thick weirdly moving black thread seemed to connect the four, extending right from their belly buttons.
Kulin’s smile turned into a frightened frown in a blink of an eye. His heart had buegun to run a race. These four men were the shadow brothers, the famed assassins of the six village’s. For them to appear here it didn’t bode any good.
Kulin backed away slowly reaching Justin “Get ready to fight for your life” he whispered to Justin. As long as it was the shadow brothers, there was no escaping. Either they died of their targets died.
Justin was feeling really shitty now. He had to fight for his life what? Like fifteen times in the span of days? The sound of a whistle accompanied kulin's words. He had fired the deadly whistling arrows.
The arrow went unrelentingly in its path to destruction as it pierced the skin of the dark skinned shadow brother. The man looked down at his chest region where it had pierced “ Tsk Tsk Tsk, no foreplay?” he said jestingly, slowly taking out the arrow out of his own chest. Black smoke escaped the hole and it gradually closed up like nothing had happened. *snap* the arrow met its demise in the man's hands.
“ Get them” the man pointed at Justin and kulin. The rest of the men launched at them with lightning like speed. “Run!” kulin screamed at Justin and the chase began.
The jungle felt the heat of the chase, branches and trees getting destroyed. The four men chased relentlessly. The lanky one with the crazy look threw a long wiggly belt at kulin. In a matter of seconds it had reached kulin and wrapped around his legs keeping them close together so he couldn’t move.
“s**t!” kulin exclaimed trying to free himself. “hehehe” a cruel smile lit the man’s face as he raised an arm up controlling that belt. With a waving motion of the man's arm the belt slammed kulin hard on a nearby tree. Blood came gushing out of kulin’s mouth like a magnificent waterfall!
“kukin!” Justin gasped, they had gotten kukin…fuck! “Fire Dragon punch!!” Justin’s eyes blazed with anger and he put that anger to good use as he channeled it through the punch.
“hehehe let me handle this” one of the brothers said staring at the Dragon that had emerged. “ana tue tu!” He spoke and the symbol on his chest expanded outward forming a huge black python that was on par with the fire dragon!
