Chapter 12

“ f**k we gotta rush this s**t” Justin yelled. “Start attracting them in threes” he screamed at kulin. Fear had entirely captured his heart now.

Kulin almost fired an arrow at Justin right then and there. Right when everything was going smoothly, the guy just had to ruin it all. They were perfectly fine with this arrangement right Now, if they went up to three then it would be far harder.

Kulin fired two arrows at the heart of the Taijins they were fighting and he faced Justin, “what do you mean in threes, are you courting death?” he asked as he jumped down from a tree.

“There’s no time to explain, I'll lure three right here and we'll finish them off” Justin said and in the next moment he had disappeared into the Taijins’ region. “f**k!” kulin screamed inside, he had been stuck with a madman! He swore if he died he would haunt justin…that's if they both don’t die!

The Taijins furious roar could be heard as kulin got on a tree and readied his arrow expecting atleast three taijins if justin was true to his words. The forest rumbled as the ground shook. Kulin was a bit surprised “were two Taijins as heavy as this?” nevertheless, he was gonna slay them.

Bow and arrow drawn ready, kulin waited as Justin’s figure gradually came in sight, three chasing him. *It is time*, kulin was about to fire an arrow when more figures came into view. Five, eight, eleven…what?! He couldn’t even count how many!

“Run!” Justin screamed. *f**k f**k f**k* he had attracted the whole pack. Kulin didn’t dare think twice and he immediately picked up the pace, jumping from tree to tree while Justin faced the full bring of the Taijins.

“System? Any help here?” Justin said to the System, maybe it could provide him some options like with the centipede. *….* justin received no response. Anxiousness overtook him “for f**k’s sake I’ve got a bunch of blood hungry beasts chasing me because of your f*****g task. Best you could do is provide some help dammit!” did the system want him to die? He couldn’t even see kulin anymore, the guy had probably left him for dead.

*….* *System cannot help the host in any way in the task. This is a special task which the host must complete himself with no help from the System*

Justin had a mini cardiac arrest following what the system said…what?! This situation was much more dangerous than the centipede and the System decided it wasn’t gonna help. We’re his karma points really that bad that he got a system so shitty?

The sound of branches moving could be heard, some of the Taijins had started swinging like monkeys and they were almost caught up with Justin.

One finally caught up and with a furious roar it jumped down heading for Justin with its knife like claws aiming for a swift kill.

Suddenly the air whistled like a sharp object was tearing through its sheets at an incredibly fast rate. The object was so powerful that it pierced through the Taijin’s heart and kept going on to pierce two more taijins before it lost its momentum.

“You owe me one!” kulin’s voice sounded from one of the trees. Justin thanked everything he could thank in his heart. He thought the dude had abandoned him. He came just at the right time!

“We can still take then on, c’mon!” words of encouragement came from kulin, he had decided to help instead of flea. He wasn’t named after the great kulin fro nothing. He would rather died with Justin than be branded a coward. Justin's eyes shone at the words, to be honest he had abandoned all hope and was ready to accept the system’s punishments. But now, Julie’s words were like a big pool of water in a vast desert. Why was he running? Why not just fight? He could do this…they could do this!

Justin asked the system in his mind “ how many minutes left in the task?”

*Time remaining: 13 minutes*

The system's voice guide spoke. *whistle* another arrow pierced a couple of Taijins right on the heads. Justin's spirits rose! There was still time, it was now or never!

“You can do this, you can do this, you ca….” He repeated those words, psyching himself up. “Aahhhh, fire dragon punch!!” He yelled. Blood red veins crept up his eyes, the power of the skill was exerted like never before.

A wave of heat spread out as the fire dragon arrived, more majestic than before. It’s face moved for the first time as it opened it's mouth breathing out fire. Teeth made of the sharpest flames, eyes like those of the brightest torches. Nostrils that spouted smoke and mouth that housed the fiercest of fires. The flame Dragon emerged, announcing it’s presence as a force to be reckoned with.

A savage roar escaped into the skies when it opened its mouth, baring its teeth and heading straight for the Taijins. Like the famous saying goes: After the heat comes the fire dragon( what? Don’t people say that….?). The Dragon devoured those in its path, frying its meal before eating them up like some tasty meat it had just seasoned. Eight taijins were cleared out swiftly, with the rest suffering injuries ranging from mild to grave.

Kulin acted immediately after, he fired five arrows taking out the injured ones. “yeah!” Justin screamed in You, he didn’t know the skill upgrade would be so freaking awesome. Now it just remained about a dozen taijins…speaking of them, what were they doing? Running? They were f*****g Running! Justin laughed maniacally, they were running from fear of him, how cool was that?!

“Lets get ‘em” Justin’s eyes glazed, the fire making the view very intense. Kulin was surprisingly feeling himself fired up, this man might not be so bad after all. He readied the last whistling arrow he had, ready to take down a couple of beasts.

Justin chased. The adrenaline pumping, blood rushing, he was like usain bolt! At this moment he felt even faster than mercury! The Taijins were no match for his speed “Fire Dragon punch!” He yelled as he jumped and landed right in the middle of the taijins, bringing death with him. The Dragon descended in the form of a fire shockwave that sent the Taijins flying. Kulin puked up on the cue and fired three of his arrows, piercing three Taijins in mid air.

Two! It remained only two taijins. Justin was about to summon his skill when kulin signaled him..he got this. He was gonna end this stylishly, Justin had been showing off earlier. Now was his turn. He looked at the last whistling arrow he had “boy, do your job” he said as he set it on the smooth wire of his bow.

Hands ready, eyes ever so sighting, arrow locked on target ready to pierce through steel. The kill was ready! With a beautiful backflip from the top of the tree, the arrow was released. *pierce * *Ding* these two sounds came subsequently, one announcing the arrival of the other.

A screen appeared in front of Justin *Time attack task completed. Equivalent rewards given; 50sp, 50000xp, 2x health replenishment potion, 2x health potion, 2x stamina potion, 2x endurance option, Emperor's Chain; Rare.*

The moment Justin saw the message his vision darkened and he blacked out with a satisfied smile on his face.
