Where am I?
Blood.... there was so much of it.... The young creature raised his hands, the bright red blood staining his coal black skin and bits of his fathers flesh and scales trapped underneath his small claws/ His throat ached badly as both blood and air were allowed to flow freely again, no longer restricted by the hands that had been trying to strangle him. The young Demon struggled for a moment his body weak from the recent lack of air. He managed to make it to his feet, the claws on his toes digging into the ground to help provide traction on the blood slickened ground. The child's vision was blurred from the blood seeping out from a gash on his forehead. Raising his mostly uninjured arm the Demon child tried to wipe the blood away, mostly succeeding as tears worked to clear out the blood in his eyes. When the child finally could see, his eyes widened in surprise at the pale, dusty landscape he was now in. This wasn't his home, and it didn't look like any part of Hell the young child had seen in his short nine years of life. where... where am I? Is this... the place mommy talked about... Is this her home? Is this... Heaven? The boy looked around, still standing in the puddle of fresh blood. His mother had told him about her old home only a few days before, about the white buildings that had been carved with tales of legend and history, about the soft fluffiness of clouds and stories of the people with white wings covered in beautiful feathers , people like his mother. The Demon attempted to take a step to get out of the slowly freezing puddle of blood and a cry of pain escaped his lips as a tidal wave of sharp pain rushed through his body. The young Demon crashed to the powdered earth, he let out a cry of pain and distress as a cloud of disturbed stone dust filled the space around him before slowly starting to settle. A soft, wailing cry escaped the young Demon as he laid on the ground while pain continued to move throughout his body, he made another distressed call, hoping that someone would hear him and come to help, he laid in the soft dust for a few moments, waiting for the pain in his body to die down. Cold tears started to slip down the young demons cheeks as he struggled for a moment to lift himself out of the soft powder, his bloodied and opened flesh was now covered in the tiny rock bits and the rock powder, something his father had said ringing in his head. "If you're by yourself and you can't fly to safety then you'll have to ignore the pain and walk until you find help." The Demon boy let out another soft cry of pain and distress, trying to bravely fight through the pain with as little noise as possible, he managed to get up to his feet and slowly take another step. It took the Demon boy awhile but he finally managed to get out of the puddle of blood and he started slowly dragging his small battered body up the hill. "A-almost there...." The young Demon panted softly as the hill he was climbing slowly became steeper, turning from soft dust to much harder rock. Blood had started seeping from the cut on his forehead, pain had filled his body again causing his breath to come out in heavy panting, something was affecting his body, making everything harder as well as making him slower. It took awhile for the nine year old to notice he was shaking, his breath was coming out in soft puffs of white steam. "W-whats going on?" The young Demon had never really experienced the cold before, Hell had always been hot, feeling cold was a new sensation to him, he didn't realize how dangerous it was for him to be out in the cold of this new environment. His body was adapted to the heat of Hell, not the nearly frozen atmosphere he was currently in. The boy struggled to take another step, he was nearly at the top of the hill, taking one last step the young Demon put his arms onto the ledge that he had to pull himself over, he could just barely reach the rim of the crater he was in and with a loud cry of effort the small Demon used his strong legs to push himself over the top of the crater and into a small pile of soft dust that rested on the edge of the crater. "I... I did it..." The small Demon panted heavily, his breath coming out in thick icy puffs as he smiled a bit, happy that he had been able to make it to the top of the hill he had been trying to get out of to see where he was. His body was shaking with heavy shivers and the blood and open cuts on his body were now caked in the sandy rock dust, the young Demon slowly started pushing himself to his feet, struggling to get upright as the icy atmosphere started affecting his overly cold body even more severely. His head started to become fuzzy, he stumbled a bit, almost falling as he tried to take a step. "Wha... whats going on?" The young demon mumbled to himself, his overly large wings pressing against his small shaking body. His wings were almost as tall as he was, the joint of the wing resting on the back of his neck, the tips of the black feathers coming to brush against the back of his calves. the feathers provided some relief to the cold but it was overwhelming his small body, making him dizzy, lightheaded and confused. The young Demon stumbled again, his foot catching on a hidden rock, the boy hit the ground hard, knocking the air out of his lungs and forcing a cry to escape the boy. He remained there for a few moments, his body hurting as he tried to catch his breath, the pain and cloudiness in his body and head almost overwhelming, the boy pulled his legs closer to his body as his brain struggled to focus on anything and finally settled on the cold. His thick feathered wings trying to wrap around his small body and preserve what little warmth that remained in his body, panting softly as he tried to duck his head under his wing, the young Demon closed his eyes for a few moments, intending to only rest his eyes for a minuet at most. The boy's eyes remained closed as he succumbed to the cold and fell asleep, his small body curled beneath his black feathered wings, the only parts of him visible to the world now, was the blackness of his wings and the bright red of his hair.
