Too late

552 Words
A weak looking man could be seen on his knees, his breathing haggard and slow. His head lowered dejectedly. His clothes were in shreds, some part of his skin burnt. Anger and bloodthirstiness could be seen in his fierce eyes, but there was no one around to quench them... at least, not anymore. His gaze were fixed on a large incinerated spot with deep cracks. This was where Morncloud's body was last seen. Not too long ago, immediately Borden had a bad premonition about the unnatural phenomenon that was brewing in the skies a couple of hours ago, he went on a race against time as he returned to the scene where Morncloud’s body laid.. where the flames of this mess was ignited. Sinking into a shadow nearby and appearing far off in the distance out of another, but in the end, he was a few seconds late. Right in from of him as far as his eyes could see. thirteen pillars of blinding deep blue lights crashed down as they surrounded Morncloud's body like an array. Mere seconds after, a very huge pillar of swirling shadow with a red hue to it, descended and covered the blasts of lights like a whirlwind. Hovering around it high up, deep into the clouds like a tornado, as it gave off an ominous feeling of coldness. RUMBLE! BRUMBLE!! "God damnit" "What the hell is happening.. move!!" "Why won't you move" Borden was only some distance away from Morncloud's location when he heard the skies roaring, and he, unintentionally froze in his spot. He was unable to move a single muscle as a terrifying gravitational force descended on him, weighing him down. He couldn’t even lift a finger.. he was petrified. His destination was already close in sight but right now, he just couldn't move his body no matter how hard he tried. Strangely, his thoughts also became slow and sluggish. The more he couldn't move, the angrier he got. The feeling of helplessness slowly crept in, which only drowned him more in despair. The feeling of despair he was feeling at the moment keep getting stronger! And where it came from, he couldn't tell... or perhaps watching his dead son’s body blasted by these strange forces isn’t naturally a pleasant sight to behold. The aura of this sudden and strange emergence were threatening. RUMBLE!!!! The skies roared again, just that this time, it was stronger than ever as winds blew up violently, tearing the nearby trees apart like blades as if the heavens were reacting to someone's anger. BOOM!!! A wave of pure energy blast, suddenly went off. Shredding close by trees into splinters, leaving bare lands in it wake. This caught the petrified Borden off guard, knocking out his consciousness as he was sent flying as far as an average human eye could see. Stopping only after crashing into a few trees. Minutes later, the unnatural phenomenon slowly dispersed. Leaving a scorched and cracked spot in it wake but the most important to Borden of all, Morncloud's body couldn't be seen. *BACKGROUND THEME* "We've all had problems and we all feel alone" "We've all been haunted by the secrets we know" "We can fill our coffins with the rocks they have thrown" "We can build a castle with the sticks and the stones"
