Selection Preparations

I grabbed Nova by the hand and brought her to one of the mini gardens where students sit down and relaxed on campus. I made sure to get under a cherry blossom tree since it was her absolute favorite type of tree that was found on this world.

"what is it that you wanted to discuss with me?" she asked as we were standing under the tree.

"well as you know the next thing that we are going to be going through as healers is the selection process which will determine what planet we will be living on for the rest of our lives." I said to her with a serious look across my face.

"yes I know that we will be doing that. in the end I do not really care what world takes me as long as it is not a desert world after all I hate sand it's coarse it's rough it's irritating and it just gets everywhere". she said.

"well because of what could possibly happen I was wondering if you would accompany me on this journey that is called life for all eternity". I said to her as I kneel down on one knee and grabbed the box out of my pocket and showed her an engagement ring that had green sapphire diamonds embedded in it.

as I looked at her she had an expression of excitement across her face and began to cry with what I was assuming was tears of joy.

"yes Danny I will gladly marry you after all if I did not want to I would not have been with you for these four years of education. being with you brings me a great amount of happiness so it is a no-brainer answer for me to say yes to wanting to spend the rest of my life with you". Nova said after she grabbed the ring and put it on her ring finger of her right hand.

"baby I am so happy that you agreed to marry me it brings me nothing but joy knowing that after the selection wherever I go you will follow. we will have a very happy life together and no matter how hard things get I will always be there for you". I said to her as I grabbed her by the hand and we began to walk towards the arena area where we were going to have our selection process today.

the structure that I want to was a massive dome facility and you could hear the screams and cheering of all of the people that were waiting to watch what was about to go down.

as I entered the building from the back door entrance Nova let go of my hand and walked down the hallway to the left that had a female sign on it. after she walked out of my field of vision I turned to my right and went into the male section of the building.

I made my way to the end of the long hallway and as I entered into the only available room that was not locked I saw a group of different male humans that were putting on armor and also grabbing weapons from a vault.

the first thing that I did was made my way to one of the lockers that was not being used and activated the touchpad that brought up a list of different kinds of armor that I could wear.

I chose to wear light armor since as a healer I value speed above all else. after that I went over to the volt where everyone was selecting their weapons and I clicked a logo on the touchpad that showed the wielding swords. then I selected the dual scythes logo that showed up on the screen after that.

when I was finished selecting my weapons a small hatch in the vault became open and a pair of dual scythes showed up for me to grab.

I got the weapons and put them both on my waist one on each side and a short while after I did this a TV monitor came down in the center of the room.

"welcome everyone to the right of selection. these candidates will be fighting in a battle royale between the five main classes.

the participants will find bags of a variety of different items that they can use in battle randomly dispersed on this battlefield.

lethal force will be allowed since we have the modern convenience of cloning technology; due to this please make sure that you give your fights everything that you've got.

after the selection has been completed and all members of the opposing team have been defeated and there is only one team remaining standing then these representatives from the households will be choosing which one of you will join them as an asset for them.

give these fights all you have and do it for the glory of The Terran Collective". the middle age male announcer said before the screen went completely dark.

then I saw a fast travel tube show up in the center of the room which everyone was using to leave the room after the television had been raised back into the ceiling.

I waited until everyone else had finally gone through the fast travel tube before I entered it. when I made it to the end I saw five different fast travel tube options. the first tube had the letter w on it. the second one had the letter r on it. the third one had the letter m on it. the fourth one had the letter h on it. the final option for me was a fast travel tube that had the letter s on it.

I was assuming that each one of these fast travel tubes was meant to divide US based on our classes. so I went through the fast rebel tube with the letter h on it since I was a healer.

when I made it to the end of the fast travel tube I noticed that I had made my way to a jungle like environment and I saw all of the members of my healing class around me.

"well look who finally showed up. were you too busy to join us any faster". Donovan said to me.

"well if you must know smart ass I was trying to wait patiently for everyone else in my preparation room to get through the fast travel tube. in the end it doesn't even matter how fast I got here it's just that I got here before the selection began." I said with an angry look across my face at Donovan because he was my rival in many things over the last four years.

"now relax you two we need to be focused on the objective at hand. in order to ensure that we are not the first team knocked out the first thing that we need to do is split ourselves up into two teams of two and then make our way to some supplies available in the area around us." Frederick said to me.

"I can at least agree with that assessment Frederick. while I may not have the same level of intelligence as the rest of you as long as you don't get in the way of me when I am trying to have my daily dosage of blood everything will be fine." Donovan said to Frederick after he stopped staring at me.

"I am okay with the strategy as well". I said to him.

"I am okay with whatever Danny is okay with". Nova said.

"we all knew that that is what you were going to say Nova". Frederick said as he laughed.

"Donovan; why don't you come with me and we will head towards the river that is nearby". I said as I wrapped my arm around him.

"all right then I will take Nova with me and we will meet back here in one hour". Frederickson as he grabbed her by the wrist and begin walking out of sight.

the next few hours or so would determine what kind of world I was going to be stuck in for the rest of my life with Nova. in the end I hope that it is at least a decent world or if it is not a decent looking world that it will at least lead to a decent life that I can be able to tolerate.
