Chapter One
Chapter 1 Ariana went for a run on a cool night. Her heart was beating as her paws pounded the ground quickly. As she forced herself to go more quickly, her gray fur sparkled in the moonlight. At the upcoming wolf race, she had to defeat Kacy Waters because she would not concede defeat to her. Ariana loved winning more than she loved competing in races. Though she could have joined in, her sister was too preoccupied getting ready to take over as the next Luna of the Crescent Moon. That's accurate. It was an unusual circumstance because her sister Kira was the subsequent Luna of the pack. Although Kira wasn't the Alpha's mate, their intense love makes it irrelevant. Because Kira is of beta blood, the pack has become accustomed to her, but the elders are still opposed. Arry does, however, feel horrible for Renzo's partner because of the dreadful predicament it will put them in. Ariana Dante Get home, Arry. coming, mom. As I got close to my home, I forced myself to move more quickly. I scurried behind a tree and changed into my white tank top and gray trousers before entering my house. Your father is returning with the Alpha for Dinner so get yourself cleaned up. "Do I have to?"I asked. "Yes, you must! And for once, please dress formally. "Fine." I changed into a gorgeous dress after taking a long shower, curled my hair, and then went downstairs for dinner. "Papa!" I hurried to my father and embraced him warmly. He had been absent for about a week on pack business. "My treasure is there." I lowered my head in adoration toward the Alpha. "Alpha." "There's no need for that, Arry; everyone here is family." The haughty jerk who will soon become my brother-in-law replied, "Yeah, Arry, we're all family here." Renzo De Caesar is my future Alpha and the love of my sister's life. He and I have always been on logger heads, ever since I can remember. He is my sister's boyfriend and my brother's best friend, but when it comes to me, it's a totally different scenario. We never get along, which is absurd considering how well he gets along with the other Dante siblings. I personally don't care for him. He has an ego larger than the Mountain and is far too attractive. Since we were children, Renzo and Kira have been developing a romance, and I have no doubt that he would give his life to save my sister. I'm relieved she has him watching out for her. She has been through enough suffering to last a lifetime. I scoff, "Don't call me that, Renzo," and roll my eyes. Rolling your eyes at the future alpha may be insulting, but since he will also be my brother-in-law, I can get away with it. "What? Is Arry not your name? "Ugh!" I reach over and take a pillow off the couch, throwing it directly at his disgusting face. That's a lie; his face is so attractive that it ought to be prohibited. Rena, keep quiet! What? It is real. My wolf ought to be on my side, right? The mind-link between my wolf and me caught me off guard, and I wasn't even aware of the pillow being thrown at me. Let me be clear: Although I have a really strong arm, it is nothing in comparison to Renzo's alpha genes. "OUCH!" My mother shouts, "Ariana and Renzo, cut it out!" She's got it going!" "No he did!" My papa replies, "It's like they're still kids." Given that his alpha status is only two years away, you'd think he would be more responsible, says Alpha Leo. Renzo exclaims, "Screw this, I'm out," as he exits through the garden door. what a drama king he is. "I'm sorry for his behavior, but ever since Lucile passed away, he hasn't been himself." I was around 14 years old and Renzo was 16 when Lucile passed away three years ago. She was the leader of the herd, and because of her radiant light, our pack prospered. She was a luna everyone admired, Luna Lucile was exactly who the world needed her to be. She was the one who held our Alpha in check, they were truly made for each other, her feisty nature made her such a fun person to be around. Just like Kira. Then, on that terrible day, she passed away. She passed away as a hero. She sacrificed her life to save hundreds when the rogues struck, and we will always remember her for that. Her death created a great vacuum,it could be seen in the Alpha's eyes as he converses with the other pack members, in Renzo's eyes as he is reminded of what he lost, and in all of us. The Alpha says, "This is the issue I'm talking about, Antonio; he needs his mate. "What? Do you mean to say that my daughter isn't up to par? Although he protects Kira, I know that my papa is not the biggest supporter of the union either. Of course not; Kira will be a fantastic Luna, but he needs his mate." He and my parents have always pressed the importance of finding a partner on all of us. I don't know if you've noticed, but Kira isn't what he needs to keep him in line and tame his wolf. From my father's throat came a roar. At the Alpha, howl? Major no-no. "Antonio!" My father displays his submission by lowering his head. Despite the fact that they are great friends, only the Luna has the power to match the Alpha. "So, Ariana, how do you feel about turning 18 soon?" Alpha Leo makes the inquiry in an effort to divert the conversation. I can't tell you how many times members of my pack have asked this question. I, for one, don't mind if my partner can smell me now that my genuine aroma is "coming out." My life's goals are straightforward: I want to go to medical school, become a doctor, and establish a small practice nearby as I complete my education. I don't have time for that, and a partner would simply make things more difficult. The answer is, "Not much." "Not a lot? You might locate your soul mate!" I don't desire a partner. "But Ariana, you're a female; you need a male to survive." This time, my throat produced a growl. "Stay there, she-wolf," I said. He spoke with a venomous tone, as if I were beneath him. Yes, an alpha beats a beta in rank, but my wolf was not going down easily. Rena was a powerful wolf who was also obstinate. She would not put up with anyone's disrespect. Don't get me wrong; I adored her for this quality, but I was aware that it would lead to issues later or even now. "My daughter is capable of surviving without a man; she does not require one. She is a Dante, after all," my father replied, gripping the fork firmly in his hands. "I didn't mean to offend you; it's just... "Leo, let's cut this off right here." Ariana envisioned how her birthday party would unfold as she sat by her windowsill and observed the night sky. She and Kira were the recipients of a lavish celebration because they would soon become adult wolves. Her mother had started organizing a month prior because she has always been one for big things. Large gatherings, pricey ball gowns, opulent dinners, and ostentatious decorations all scream Valentina Dante. These wasn't her thing,as she doesn't like being the center of attraction. She could already picture the excruciating discomfort of being forced to put on a grin and brag about how wonderful it was to turn 18. She tried to concentrate on the concept of the celebration, but questions began to race through her head like a tornado. Would she locate her soul mate? She wasn't prepared to have a partner. Arry did not desire a pup anytime soon; unlike most males, who want a pup at the female's first heat. Then she began to wonder about her Alpha. Would she be able to live alone? When a woman is not with her partner, her heat can be very deadly. She has even heard that if a wolf feels rejected, they may cease communicating with their human. Can she survive without Rena? She was unable to bear the idea. Rena was her better half and her other half. Her absence would be like living alone. Oh, Goddess, please help me! Do not curse me with a partner, please. Ariana hoped the goddess would hear her prayer. She merely wished to savor her final month as a 17-year-old. A woman with no worries, no issues, and no potential partners She merely desired to be Ariana Dante, the beta she-wolf who was capable of taking down some of her pack's most formidable members.
