Blurb

Five years ago, she appeared in his company, toyed with his feelings, destroyed everything she could, and disappeared without a trace. Everyone believed she was dead.

But she wasn't.

Living under a new identity, Aria Bennett has finally received the payment she was promised and is ready to leave her dangerous past behind. Five years of hiding should be enough to erase the life she once lived.

Or so she thought.

Because the moment she returns to the city, she encounters the last person she ever expected to see again.

Adrian Logan Blackwood.

The ruthless billionaire CEO she had destroyed—both in business and emotionally.

Aria had hoped he would forget her.

She was wrong.

So very wrong.

Because Adrian has never forgotten her.

And now that she's back within his reach, he's out for revenge.

He will stop at nothing to trap her in his world, uncover every secret she's hiding, and make her pay for the damage she left behind.

But Aria soon realizes that escaping Adrian Blackwood for a second time may be impossible.

Because this time, Adrian traps her in a contract marriage—one that won't end until he's completely ruined her.

But what happens when revenge turns into obsession?

And what happens when the woman he swore to destroy becomes the one person he can no longer let no longer let go?

Five Years Ago
My eyes fluttered open as I stared at the familiar ceiling of Adrian's apartment. I tried to move but realized he was holding me like a stuffed toy, and I smiled. But my smile barely lasted when I remembered that, a few hours ago, I had sent very exclusive information about his company to one of his rival companies. ‎ ‎"Ariana," he muttered, kissing my shoulder, and I hummed. Yes, Adrian only knew me as Ariana Boulder and not my real name, Aria Bennett. ‎ ‎"We're going to be late for work," I whimpered when I felt him brush against me. ‎ ‎Adrian groaned and threw the sheets off himself, revealing his beautiful butt cheeks, one sight I was planning to engrave in my memory for as long as I could before everything else fell apart. ‎ ‎The moment Adrian entered the bathroom, his phone dinged, and I snatched it from the side of his bed. It was a message from his assistant about some exclusive documents that needed his signature. ‎ ‎I heard the bathroom door open, and I froze when I felt Adrian looking at me with a towel draped around his waist. ‎He winked at me. "Ever the inspector girlfriend? I don't have anything to hide, Ariana. You can look all you want. I have nothing to hide." ‎ ‎I wish I could say the same but I muttered. "I was checking who the message was from." I threw it back onto the bed. Adrian chuckled and entered the bathroom. ‎ ‎Of late, I'd decided to enjoy this deceitful relationship for as long as it lasted because I knew, deep within my bones, that I would not be able to fall in love with anyone else again. ‎ ‎So, throwing the sheets off me, I pulled the bathroom door open and joined him in the bathroom. ‎ ‎Adrian turned to me, his hot c**k dangling as he washed his hair, and I bit my lip, looking at him before walking to join him under the shower. ‎ ‎He grabbed me harshly and pinned me against the wall. "I thought you said we're going to be late for work?" he asked, already kissing my neck and moulding my breast as I rubbed myself against him. ‎ ‎Adrian grunted, slipping his two fingers into my folds, and I moaned into the kiss, spreading my legs wide for him. He pumped his fingers in and out of me, claiming me whole until I became an absolute mess in his arms. ‎ ‎He hoisted me onto his waist as I said, "I bet a few minutes should be okay," before he slammed into me, hot and hard. I moaned, gripping his shoulder as he continued to ravage me. ‎ ‎I bit hard on his shoulder when he pulled back slowly, only to slam harder into me, leaving me a wrecked mess in his arms. ‎ ‎--- ‎ ‎Adrian and I sat in the back of his black Bentley as his chauffeur drove us toward his company. ‎ ‎I skimmed through some documents on my phone that I hadn't been able to complete yesterday when Adrian spoke. ‎"I'll be going for a late-night business meeting, so I won't be coming home early." ‎ ‎He took my hand in his, and I nodded with a smile. The car slowed to a stop a few steps away from the company entrance. I got out, smoothing down my clothes as the chauffeur drove Adrian toward the main driveway. ‎ ‎I had told Adrian that I didn't want to be seen arriving with him because my teammates might think he was showing some favoritism. But that was a lie. ‎ ‎The real reason was much simpler. The agency had made it clear that I was never to be seen publicly with him. Not once. ‎I watched the Bentley disappear toward the driveway before turning around and continuing down the road toward the company entrance. ‎ ‎As soon as I stepped inside, I slipped on my fake ID. Ariana. The name stared back at me from the identification card. I grunted softly, schooling my features before stepping into the elevator. ‎ ‎The doors slid shut. For a moment, I was alone. Then my phone dinged. I pulled it out and glanced at the screen. ‎ ‎' One last thing before everything is over. Get all their new products they're planning to bring to the market in the next three years.' ‎ ‎I bit my lip as I read the message again. ‎This was total destruction for the company. Three years' worth of products. Their plans. Their future. ‎ ‎Everything they had been working toward could end up in the hands of their competitors. I didn't even know what Adrian had done to this person to deserve this. ‎ ‎But an accusing voice in my head whispered, Yet you're continuing with the deal. I winced. ‎ ‎The elevator doors opened, and I quickly slipped my phone into my bag before walking toward my office. ‎ ‎The familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee reached me before I even sat down. ‎ ‎A brown skinned woman dressed in a fitted office dress walked through my doorway, holding a cup. "Ariana, I got you some coffee. Now take it before it turns cold." ‎ ‎I grabbed the cup from her, bringing it toward my lips before immediately hissing at the heat. "Careful," she laughed. I ignored her and took another sip. It was exactly how I liked my coffee—hot enough to burn my tongue. ‎ ‎"So, tell me," she said, dragging out the words as a mischievous smile spread across her face. "How does it feel finally getting all hot and bothered with your boss?" ‎ ‎She whistled and pulled closer. I grunted. ‎I honestly didn't know how she had found out, but Kendra always seemed to know almost everything happening in the company. She was the only person here I was close enough to call a friend. ‎ ‎"You could call it a good form of exercise," I replied with a wink. Kendra burst into laughter. She took a sip of her own coffee before shaking her head. "I wish his assistant wasn't so cold."I chuckled. "Maybe you should stop flirting with him." ‎ ‎"Never."She grinned before turning toward the door. "Let me get going before Mr. Wallace scolds me." ‎ ‎With that, she disappeared from my office. I finished the rest of my coffee and placed the empty cup on my desk before finally focusing on my work. ‎ ‎I had barely opened the first document when my phone rang. I glanced at the screen. Adrian's Assistant. My brows furrowed as I answered. "Hello?" ‎ ‎"Urgent meeting. Come to the conference room." The call ended. I stared at my phone. My stomach tightening . ‎ ‎An urgent meeting wasn't unusual in Adrian's company. But something about this one felt different. I slowly rose from my chair. Whatever was waiting for me in that conference room... ‎ ‎I had a feeling it wasn't good news. ‎
