I return Anna’s hug and caress her head in assurance. Pulling away I hold her hands in mine. “Just take care of yourself. You deserve the absolute best, okay?”
She nods, smiling softly. I can tell she feels a lot better than before. She and Brian wave at us and walk down the hallway to the stairs. To lift her mood up I suggested she take the rest of the day off. And I knew she won’t let the ice cream opportunity with Brian off. So, it was two targets with one arrow.
