Story Title: ICYBAY ISLAND
Chapter One: The Invitation
The cold wind brushed against Ivy's skin as she stepped off the small seaplane, her boots sinking slightly into the soft, icy sand. She tightened her scarf, taking in the breathtaking sight of IcyBay Island. It was more beautiful than she had imagined—crystal blue waters, tall pine trees lining the edges, and a faint mist dancing over the distant hills. It looked like paradise, yet something about it felt... wrong.
The invitation had come out of nowhere, slipped under her apartment door with no sender, no return address. It simply read:
"You've been selected. Come to IcyBay Island. Discover the truth."
A free trip to a luxury island? She should have thrown it away. But curiosity had gripped her, and now here she was, standing alone on the shore, her heart pounding.
"Welcome, Miss Ivy." A man in a dark uniform appeared, his face calm but unreadable. "Please, follow me. The others are waiting."
"The others?" Ivy asked, her voice steady despite the knot forming in her stomach.
"Yes. The other guests."
Without another word, he turned and led her up a narrow path that twisted through towering trees. As they walked, Ivy noticed something odd—there were no other staff members, no sign of activity, just silence. It was too quiet for a place meant to host visitors.
When they reached the lodge, a grand wooden building overlooking the bay, Ivy saw them: seven strangers, all gathered in tense silence. Their eyes flicked to her as she entered, each of them wearing the same uncertain expression.
"You're the last to arrive," said the man in uniform. "The games will begin soon."
"Games? What games?" Ivy's voice was sharp now, her pulse racing.
He offered no answer, only a cold smile as he handed her a small, silver key. "Your room. Rest well, Miss Ivy. Tomorrow, everything will be revealed."
As she climbed the stairs to her room, questions flooded her mind. Who were these people? Why were they here? And most importantly—what truth was waiting to be uncovered on IcyBay Island?
Whatever it was, Ivy knew one thing for sure: there was no turning back now.

Chapter Two: The Strangers
The grand lodge felt colder than the wind outside. Its towering windows revealed the endless stretch of forest and icy waters beyond, but inside, tension hung thicker than fog. Ivy's eyes moved from face to face — seven strangers, all clearly as confused as she was.
There was the young couple whispering nervously in the corner, the sharp-eyed woman standing by the fireplace, arms crossed, the two older men who looked like they didn’t trust anyone — including each other — and a tall, quiet guy leaning against the wall, his expression unreadable.
"What is this place?" Ivy asked, breaking the silence.
The sharp-eyed woman spoke first. "I was wondering the same thing." Her voice carried authority. "Name's Lila. I got the same invitation. No details, no explanations. Just... come to IcyBay Island."
"Me too," the young man with dark curls nodded. "Said something about a discovery. Thought it was some research trip or... prize thing."
The tall, quiet guy finally pushed off the wall. "My name’s Cole. I didn’t sign up for this," he muttered, his voice low but steady. "But now we’re here. No boats. No way back."
Ivy's pulse quickened. She hadn’t even thought to check for boats. She spun toward the door, but the uniformed man was gone.
"They locked us in," Lila confirmed, watching her. "We’re not leaving anytime soon."
Ivy’s eyes narrowed. Something about this wasn’t just strange — it was dangerous. She could feel it.
"So," she said, crossing her arms, "whoever invited us... what do they want?"
No one answered. The only sound was the soft crackling of the fireplace and the distant howl of the wind outside.
Chapter Three: A Game of Secrets
The next morning brought no answers, only more questions. At dawn, a loud chime echoed through the lodge, waking Ivy from a restless sleep. A note had been slipped under her door.
"Meet in the dining hall. The truth begins."
The dining hall was vast, with high ceilings and large windows that overlooked the misty bay. The others were already gathered, their faces etched with suspicion.
In the center of the table sat a large, black envelope. The uniformed man — whose name no one yet knew — stood beside it.
"Good morning," he said smoothly. "Welcome to IcyBay Island. You have been chosen not merely for a vacation, but for a test."
A test? Ivy exchanged a glance with Lila, whose sharp eyes had narrowed.
"This island holds secrets — old ones. Some of you will uncover them. Some of you..." His eyes darkened. "May not."
He opened the envelope, pulling out eight smaller ones, each labeled with a name.
"Your first clue is inside. Work together... or don't. Either way, only those who solve the mystery will leave this island."
The room fell into silence as the envelopes were distributed. Ivy's fingers shook as she opened hers. Inside was a riddle:
"I am the beginning and the end, the edge of the world, the place where secrets drown. Find me."
Her heart pounded. The beach? The cliffs?
She looked around — fear, determination, and doubt written on every face. One thing was certain: IcyBay Island wasn’t just beautiful... it was deadly.
And the game had begun.

Chapter Four: The Clue by the Shore
Ivy’s boots crunched over the frost-covered sand as she made her way to the beach. The riddle in her envelope still echoed in her mind:
"I am the beginning and the end, the edge of the world, the place where secrets drown. Find me."
It had to be the shoreline. The waves rolled in slow and dark, whispering against the rocks like they carried ancient secrets.
She wasn’t alone. Cole stood farther down the beach, staring out over the water. His tall frame was rigid, his eyes sharp with suspicion — but there was something else, too.
"Find anything?" she called, approaching cautiously.
Cole shook his head. "Nothing yet. But this place..." His eyes swept the horizon. "It’s designed to trap us."
Ivy nodded. She believed it now more than ever.
Near a large rock, something glinted — half-buried in the sand. Ivy crouched, brushing away the grains to reveal a small, metal object. It was a key, old and rusted, with strange symbols carved along the edge.
"Looks like your first clue," Cole muttered, watching her.
She turned the key in her hand, feeling a chill crawl up her spine. The island wasn’t just testing them. It was playing with them.
And they were running out of time.

Chapter Five: Locked Doors and Whispered Warnings
Back at the lodge, Ivy examined the key under the dull glow of the hallway lights. It looked ancient, its design unfamiliar — almost like it belonged to a different century.
She wasn’t sure what it opened, but part of her was afraid to find out.
"You found the key."
Lila’s voice startled Ivy. The sharp-eyed woman stepped out from the shadows, her expression unreadable.
"Yeah," Ivy admitted. "By the shore."
Lila's eyes flicked to the key, then back to Ivy. "Good. But be careful. This island isn’t just about puzzles. It’s about choices."
"What do you mean?"
Lila hesitated, then leaned in. "Some clues will lead you to answers. Others will lead you to trouble. And trust me..." Her voice lowered. "Not everyone here wants you to survive."
Before Ivy could respond, a distant scream echoed from one of the upper floors.
Both women froze.
The game was far from over. And IcyBay Island was just getting started.
