After ordering something to eat and listening to stranger sing and make a fool of themselves, Adam and I finally payed the bill and left the place after an hour of enjoying the night to the best of our abilities.       “You were really unlike yourself tonight, Ed,” said Adam as we got into the car and I started it.       “Of course I was unlike myself,” I scoffed. “I sang Cathy’s Clown on a stage and in front of absolute strangers, for crying out loud!”         “That’s not what I’m talking about,” Adam whispered, looking sideways at me, and for a second I was scared that he had found out about me.
