Chapter 9

Effie's P.O.V

My party has been awesome I am having so much fun, Although I'm pretty sure Ariana's sexy dancing with her dragon was the talk of the night. I'm so happy she finally let someone in, they suit each other so well both have the dark demeanour and I could tell by the way they were with each other they would of mated no sooner they teleported out. Nate was a bit embarrassed as people were talking about it but I managed to keep his mind distracted, maybe not to the same extent Ariana has no doubt of gone by now with Allaric. “Happy birthday Effie” A cheerful voice shouts, I turn to see Gramps smiling wide “nice to see you two have sorted out the issue you were having” looking more at Nate than me. I couldn't help but laugh, wearing his mark I bet everyone assumes we have mated already, It just hasn't felt like the right time to be intimate yet, although I'm sure we both are desperate to feel the warmth from each others body.

Nate pulls me towards him, he looked anxious “Effie I hope you don't mind but I have another birthday present for you, with your party tonight I booked it for tomorrow” he says, he looks so cute right now I don't think I have ever seen him so nervous “Are you asking me out on a date?” I ask smiling, his cheeks blush “Yes if you accept?” he says not looking at me directly, “Of course I will, I look forward to it” I say kissing him on the cheek lightly, “Not you too, I'm not sure how much more teenager hormones I can deal with in one night” Faiban says making us both laugh, “I think I need to discuss with your sister about keeping her personal life a bit more private” he says, making Nate blush brightly again “Dad please, I've been tortured enough for one night” he says, making me and Faiban laugh loudly I couldn't help but add to it “the way she was grinding against him it's a good job they were wearing clothes” I say and they both release an “ewww” which made me laugh louder.

I thanked everyone, who came to my party as they left, Nate stayed with me never letting go of my hand. I felt so calm and confident having him next to me, Once the last people had left Nate and I went a slow stroll around the forest, as we came to the clearing a small laugh filled me “What's so funny?” he asked “the last time we were here I was naked in your arms” I say blushing slightly at the thought, “It was the first time you showed genuine concern for me” I say, he looks down to the floor and I could tell he regretted his actions over the last few years “I'm sorry Effie, for what I put you through I just thought it was safer” he looked helpless “Nate it's okay, I understand is the craving for my blood gone altogether now?” I ask, hoping in one way he will say no as his bite was so alluring and intense “Not completely why?” he asks with an odd look in his eyes, “I well” I bite my lip slightly, “I enjoyed it, I know I shouldn't but it was a feeling I could get used too” he looks at me completely surprised “Really? It made you feel like that?” I nod nervously still meeting his gaze.

As we get closer to a tree he holds me against it, kissing me gently, stroking my cheek softly with his finger tips. The sparks are flying and I feel like time is standing still, both our breathing is heavy as the kiss becomes more passionate, I feel a small sharp twinge in my lip and the feeling that ripples through me again is insane, it floods every part of my body and I can't help but release a low moan, Nate pulls back lust evident in his eyes “Maybe next time we come out here I can get you naked again” he says smirking “Especially if you keep making noises like that” I slap his shoulder whilst blushing.

Nate walks me home and once reaching my room I can't wait to get into bed, I've had an amazing birthday. I really wanted to go further with Nate but It's just not the time, I can't help but think about what he has planned for tomorrow night. I will have to ask Ariana to help me pick an outfit as I dare say she will be aware of his plans. I try my best to fall asleep but I feel so wired, I think about calling Ariana but I don't know what happened with her and Allaric, whether she's still with him or not.

The morning sun shone through the windows brightly, waking me up from a deep sleep as I sit up I notice Ariana sat on my chair “What are you doing here?” I ask groggily, “Nice to see you too” she says sarcastically, “Sorry I didn't mean it like that, I just didn't expect to see you here” I yawn out and rub my eyes, “Well where else would I be? I've got to take someone shopping for an outfit haven't I?” she says, pulling the quilt off me “Go on get showered and dressed so we can go already it's already half ten the days wasting away” she barks clapping her hands loudly, I groan before dragging myself out of bed and towards my bathroom. I take a quick shower, knowing with the warm weather today I'm going to need another later, I push my hair up into a messy bun before leaving the bathroom.

“I picked you out some clothes” She says still smiling, “Okay come on before I get dressed tell me what happened” I say, she's never this chirpy in a morning I remember her complaining during pack training because it was too early and she hadn't had enough coffee “Nope not until your dressed” she says with a playful look, “Fine” I look at what she's picked for me to wear and to my surprise it's actually something I would wear for a change, a plain pale blue t shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. “Ready” she asks, I nod and she grabs my hand teleporting us to the shopping centre. “Okay now let's go get some breakfast, I'm starving” she says, dragging me towards one of her dad's restaurants. Once were sat and ordered I can't help but ask again “Well? What happened?” I ask her impatiently, her playful look changed to a blushing face “I teleported us back to his hotel and well we you know” she says, looking embarrassed, “Since when do you blush?” I ask her, she shakes her head and pulls her halter neck to one side, “You are fully mated to him?” I ask shocked, “Yeah I don't know how but I lost complete control of myself and all I could think about was him, it was like my body was in a trance Effie, I've never felt something so intense, he broke down all my walls” she says I can't help but laugh, “It's about time you let someone inside that stone cold ice heart” I say and she glares at me “I think I'm falling in love with him Effie, I spent all night there” her eyes showed so much emotion which is something I have never seen in her, “How many times did you?” I ask and she's full on beet red now “Don't ask” she says shaking her head and I can't help but laugh.

Once we start shopping I'm interested in my date, “What kind of outfit are we shopping for?” I ask her, she smiles “Something sexy!” she starts laughing, as were walking around the shopping centre I notice different glances towards Ariana, she's really attracting a lot of attention today “Ari I don't know if it's because your happy but your not having your usual affect on people around us” I say, she shrugs “I guess I better put the aura up” I look at her gobsmacked “You came out without your aura up? You never do that” I say gobsmacked she smiles “I can't help it, he broke through some barriers last night and I felt so good I forgot to put it on” her smile wide I knew she was happier, I also knew there was something odd going on, usually people give Ariana sly glances where as today there full on ogling her.

We enter a shop and I can tell her aura is back as men back away as we walk through, I sigh in relief. I see Ariana make her way towards the underwear section “No Ari you are not helping me pick under wear” I say, she smirks “I wasn't looking for you, I have a date with Allaric tonight where going dancing again” I smile relieved “Okay, I walk towards the pretty lace bra's and find a navy set that I like, I feel a bit embarrassed looking at something so sexy “It won't bite you” says Ariana smirking, she's got a bright red set in her hand. “I'm not like you Ari I don't really dress sexy” I say with conviction, Ariana grabs the bra and pants set that's in my size “Trust me this is perfect for what my brother has planned” It takes me back to what will happen tonight.

We walk into another shop where a tall thin women is stood behind the counter, she looks very stern and stiff. I wonder if it's Ariana's aura “Hello Esmerelda” says Ariana, the women barely gazes at Ariana and tut's, she looks at her nails and once Ariana isn't facing her she glares in our direction “why do I feel like she doesn't like you?” I ask, “she doesn't” Ariana says with a shrug, most women envy her confident and cold demeanour but this felt like more. “Did you do something to upset her?” I ask, still looking in the women's direction Ariana laughs lightly “I just beat her ass in a witch battle” she says with a wide smirk as if remembering it. The women's gaze was still death glare towards Ariana, I could read anger and envy in her eyes. Ariana didn't pay any attention to the bitter witch instead she was looking through the rack of dresses that was in front of us, “Oh wow this one is beautiful Effie” she said holding up a navy blue dress it was a knee length skater dress the top was covered in gold embellishments and the bottom was lace that flowed out with a light gold trim. I couldn't argue it was truly stunning, I took the dress from her hands and walked towards the fitting room. Ariana didn't follow as she was still looking for something herself.

Back in my room I looked at myself in the mirror I had no words, I felt like a princess “You look amazing” says Ariana she was dressed up for her date, as usual her outfit was dark and sexy she has picked a figure hugging black dress with red trim. “Thanks Ari I feel great” she smiled “Come on I best get you to your destination” she held my hand and teleported me to a beautiful secluded spot within the pack, it was decorated with fairy lights. Nate was sat at a table set for two, he saw us arrive and stood to greet me Ariana gave my hand a light squeeze before disappearing. I walked towards Nate and something inside was stirring “This is beautiful Nate”.

He smiled taking my hand and walking me to the table he pulled out the chair, “Effie you look amazing” he said and I could see a mixture of emotions in his face, “Thank you, you look rather handsome too” I say smiling, we sat talking and eating just enjoying being in each others presence. “Nate I can't push this feeling down any longer I want to be with you” I said and I saw his eyes change colour. He stood and held my hand walking with me down a path of fairy lights, I was frozen in my spot when I noticed where we were. It was the spot he had helped me when my leg had been broken by the rogue, there was a large tent and as we walked inside there was a bed and petals scattered all around.

Nate moved closer to me, he began kissing my shoulder whilst skimming his fingers down my arm “Is it okay?” he asked, I smiled and turned to face him “Nate it's perfect!” I closed the gap between us and snaked my arms around his neck, he picked me up bridal style and moved towards the bed. Lowering me down he began kissing down my neck, the feeling was extreme, I run my fingers through his thick curly locks. He looked up towards me but continued to kiss down my body, feeling his lips grazing across my breast made me tingle in a way I never thought possible “I want to taste you” he said, I already felt breathless by his feather light touch. He removed my dress gently and ran his fingers down my body, I don't know what I want from him right now but his light delicate touches are so arousing.
