CHAPTER SIX Leonard and his men were camped a few miles outside the main village of Arochukwu. Leonard was shrewd and not the type to give in easily to defeat. The local barbarians had not only insulted Her Majesty the Queen of England, but had also committed the crime of throwing them out of the village. Since normal diplomacy had failed to cajole them into signing the Treaty, the only option left was to use gun diplomacy. His men sat round a campfire as he paced back and forth, thinking of his next move. So many questions ran through his mind. Why were they taken to the priest-king instead of the Eze Aro, since they had one? Why was the Eze Aro not the one who banished them? Why the chief priest? Perhaps he had so much to learn about these peoples’ culture. But how much would that help
