5. Spill the truth

650 Words
ANGEL’S POV I pushed every button I could find and then pressed them all again until someone finally answered my calls. “Help please, I’m stuck in here.” “Are you alone, miss?” The voice asked in return. Unfortunately not. They didn’t say anything, but I knew they were there. I could feel their intense stare on the back of my head. “There’s two others. Please hurry,” I begged. I didn’t want to be stuck in here, but when the guy said it could take up to twenty minutes I felt doomed. I sunk to the ground. This was not what I had in mind today and seeing them both twice was certainly not marked on my calendar. If I keep quiet perhaps they’ll both forget I’m here, we’ll be rescued and I can run far away from them. “It felt like a dream coming true, seeing you again, Angel.” I looked up at Curtis as his charm oozed through every single word like venom. “You say dream. I say nightmare.” Ben crouched down and it took everything in me not to scurry away, but then again where could I go? “We’ve missed you. Where have you been all this time?” I ignored him, but he continues. “We were good, Angel. The three of us, we were taking things slow. You promised not to leave us.” I scoffed. If I didn’t watch my words carefully then I would say something I regret. “Why did you leave us that night?” Ben asks. I snap my head to look at him and see pain in his eyes. He can’t be serious right now? I look at Curtis and he also is studying me carefully. I stand up, adrenaline helping me stay up straight. “I don’t know what kind of sick, twisted game your playing, but you can stop now.” Ben stepped forward calling my name and I backed away so quickly I hit my back with a loud thud. “Just stay away!” Both of them looked shocked at my raised voice. “Angel?” “No!” I ordered. “Just stop. You can pretend that night didn’t happen all you like but I will never be able to forget how you drugged and r***d me.” Ben and Curtis both shared the same expression. I didn’t care. They can pretend all they like. Breathe, I told myself. I couldn’t. There was a fire in my lungs and I would combust if I was in here any longer. Just like an answer to my prayers there was a loud clunk and the elevator doors were pried open. There was a big gap between the elevator and the level we were supposed to be on, but when they offered me their hand I took it and climbed out of there. CURTIS’S POV Her words are ringing in my head. Drugged and r***d her, that’s what she said. Ben and I didn’t share the same rush as she did to get out and waited until the doors were safely propped open before we climbed out. “You heard what she said, didn’t you?” Ben asks. “That wasn’t my imagination.” I stop as we’re both a safe enough distance away from everyone else. “That night, do you remember anything?” I whisper. “I can remember the date, and that we both told her we loved her but after that it’s a blur. We woke up and she wasn’t there, but there was-“ “Blood,” Ben finished. “Because we were more worried about finding here I never questioned whether it was just me that couldn’t remember. I put it down to too much alcohol that night,” Ben confessed. I shook my head though. That in itself sounded strange. “But I don’t remember drinking that night.” Ben’s face twisted as he tried to recall something. Finally I broke the silence that was chewing away at us. “It’s time to call Fiona. She’s helped us remember things before. She can help us again.” Ben nods though it’s pained and I know why but I wouldn’t suggest it if it wasn’t important. There were some things in our life that we wanted to forget but anything concerning Angel needed to be remembered and now.
