19. Glow

ANGEL’S POV I didn’t realise how much things would change when we came back. No longer did I have any time for myself. Work has been crazy busy and when I’m not working then I’m with Curtis and Ben or grandma. She still demands to get her regular tea meetings with me. My mothers been trying to get ahold of me all week but I’ve been avoiding her every call. “Your glowing,” London says through slurps. The two of us had found time to go out for coffee and an overdue catch up. I smiled at her, that was a compliment I had been getting all week and I was enjoying it immensely. “So where are the two Prince Charmings taking you tonight.” “To a gala,” I replied. London coughed on her coffee. “Are you going as their official date.” I shrugged, “I suppose so.” “Do you think that’s wise. You get a lot of attention at a gala, their family will be there as well won’t they.” I nod and try and blow off her doubt. I’m sure they knew what they were doing, but now was I getting this sick feeling in my stomach. Before I knew it, it was too late to back out and I was dressed and being driven to the event. The door opened and Curtis and Ben were stood there looking dapper whilst everyone watched. They escorted me inside and gave me a drink. “You look ravishing,” Curtis whispered in my ear. “Will you be alright for a second father wants to introduce some people to us.” I nod, but it’s clear they don’t believe me. “Go. I’ll find my way to the snack table.” They leave with the promise to be back quickly. I go and get something to munch on. Why did I skip dinner? Stupid mistake. “She’s so gross.” I peer from the corner of my eye to see a group of ladies gawking at me. Their voices not exactly discreet. “Do you think it’s true that they’re paying her for sex.” “I heard they like to do it together but why her. I would be more than willing to be the lady between them.” They giggled at her comment. “Angel?” Ben was standing in front of me. I crunch loudly on a crisp. “What’s going on?” I leaned in closer and told him. “It seems like he two of you have many volunteers, they even think your paying me for it.” Ben looked ready to kill those girls and patted my shoulder, leading me away and to the dance floor. “Ignore them.” He said. “People can think what they want but as long as the three of us know how we feel then that’s all that matters.” Ben engulfed me in his arms and I felt safe and warm dancing away the night with him. Poor Curtis barely got five minutes with us. Every time he made it to us he was called to meet someone else. He looked pooped by the time we were leaving. We waited for him to put his coat on and he asked. “Are you ready?” I thought he meant to go home what I didn’t expect was for both of them to grab my hands and drag me out in front of the paparazzi. A million questions were fired are way. “Is it true your dating?” “Is the engagement off?” Curtis put his hand up and everything settled. “My soul brother and I are both dating Miss Angel Dawson. The three of us are very much in love and that’s all you need to know, thank you.”
