Chapter Twenty
Topher opened his eyes and found himself standing in the middle of an empty hallway filled with lockers. Instantly, he realized he was at Maggie’s school, but when he looked around, Maggie was nowhere to be found. An uneasy feeling came over him. Where could she be? She had to be somewhere close by, otherwise he knew that he wouldn’t be there, either. “Maggie!” he yelled, knowing that, if she was around, she would be the only one who could hear him. When no response came, he started walking around the building. He checked down hallways and corridors, even peeked inside some classrooms, but he still couldn’t find her. A bell suddenly rang throughout the school, and students soon began to pour into the halls. Topher double checked to make sure none of them would be able to see him as he
