Ella's Revenge

# A platter of Revenge Ella cried her eyes out seeing her father drowning in the pool of his own blood. His eyes were wide open and his thick and red blood slowly flow from his forehead down to the ground, his stomach was flatten on the ground and he was lifeless. Ella froze where she stood, bad sweat came right from every part of her skin. She shuddered continuously as her gaze was fixed on her dead father, it was as if she forgot how to blink. It was a complete terror for her; her mind was blank, nothing was going out nor coming into her head anymore. She clung to her teddy bear that was pressed to her chest as if she was holding in to her heart. Her world drastically was falling apart and she couldn't do anything but to watch it fall. Her lips was shaking but words struggle to come out. She managed to muttered a word "Papa" with a soft, shaken and hoarse voice After managing to speak this whole time, her eyes slowly slide to the door where a male figure was backing her, he was on a black suit. An average man that was about 6 feet and 2 inches tall who would be at his middle thirties, his right hand was stain with the blood of her father. This man didn't spare a glance at the body nor the poor and confused girl. He only halted when he got to the door and held the handle, followed by a cold and broken voice: "I'm so sorry" That was all he could say, obviously to Ella it didn't take him three seconds before he dashed out of the house. Ella slide her frozen eyes back to her father on the ground, releasing several horrific gasp. The wolf howled outside the house. What a gruesome night. Ella was 10 years old when she lost her father. He was the only family she had. Her mother died after her birth, ever since then her father has been a single father. He loved and cherish Ella like a precious jewel. Ella was also all he had since his wife's death. He played the role of a father and a mother to her, even a best and only friend. So his death created terrible chaos in her head. After that dreadful night, Ella's aunt (her father's sister) came and took her away. That was the last time in 15 years she saw the City of New York. ********* 15 years later, Ella was on a moving train, she rested her head on the windshield as she observe the view outside the train. She saw beautiful streets, enormous houses and skyscrapers, the view was amazing but one couldn't tell by her plane expression. Minutes later she step out of the train at a train station, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath "New York City" She said " My platter of revenge " She added before she put on her sunglasses and walk elegantly out of the station with her luggage. Ella got to her new apartment. A lady accompany her, she was the agent who rented her the house. The house was a decent two room apartment, it wasn't looking classy but that doesn't matter to Ella, she came to New York for a mission and it has nothing to do with a life of luxury. "Welcome to your new home, ma'am" The agent said. I hope it's not less than what you expected?" She asked. "It's alright " was all Ella could respond. "Do you need anything else?" "No, I'm alright" The agent tried giving her some information about the apartment but Ella wasn't bothered about what she's saying, she carelessly listen to all she said. She'd only nod her head and walk around, examining the place. "Do you have any questions ma'am?" The agent asked and Ella shook her head as response. "I'll take my leave now, here are your keys to the apartment" Handed the keys to her. "Have a nice stay Miss..." The agent wait for her to to tell her her full name. "Carter" Ella completed "Ella Carter" "Ella Carter, again, enjoy your stay here" She exit. Ella wondered around her apartment, she went to her room and sat on her bed, she took a lollipop from her bag, unwrap it and throw it to her mouth. Her phone rang, the caller's ID stated 'Jane' "Hello" she said after answering the call "Hey Ella, are you at New York now?" The caller (Jane) asked from the other side of the line "Yeah, I just got to my apartment" Ella answered. "Great" she said " But Ella, I'm still wandering why you choose to rent an apartment when your father have an abandoned house over there" "I can't stay there Jane, there's a lot of bittersweet memories there. I Can't afford it" She solemnly said. "I understand dear" Jane said "But it would had been better if you stay here in Detroit. This is your home too. You have a life here" "My life is here, in New York " Ella Blurted "Ella, You had a chance to be a surgeon. That was all you ever wanted to be when you are a kid and you are opportune to work at the biggest hospital here in Detroit, but you just trash it as if it doesn't matter because of...... revenge " Jane said disappointedly. "Jane, you don't understand... " "I do, I also lost a brother" Jane solemnly said. "Then you should know why I need to do this" Ella said after a short pause. "I've been waiting for 15 years now for this. I can't stop now Jane. That bastard must pay for what he did to my dad" "Be careful then. Peter Rodger is a very dangerous man" Jane warn "I know" Ella fearlessly said "I'd spent years planning all this. It's time I put all my plans to action" She continued Jane gave a frustrating sigh, seeing she couldn't change her mind. "Promise you'll come back when things get worse" Ella ended the call. She continued with her lollipop as she read a newspaper from her bag. The news was about Peter Rodger and his company with the punchline 'Novatech industries hit the number one company in the whole of USA' The next day, Ella, neatly dressed, sat before the HR of the Novatech company. The lady shook hands with her. "Congratulations Miss Carter, you've gotten the job as the secretary of the Managing Director of this quoter Novatech industry " The HR stated. Ella gave a simple smile "Thank you" Stepping out with that achieving smile. She had to control herself not to give a wicked laugh. If only this company know what they are up against. She walk towards a billboard hung on a wall inside the company that has the bold writing "Novatech, Home of inspiration" She gave a proud smile "Soon this company will fall in the hands of that thief who killed my father. And will rise anew in my hands" She declared. The next thing she heard behind her from a female's voice gave her a shock "That ain't gonna happen" a lady behind her burst Ella widen her eyes at that same spot, oh no, has she been caught on her very first da y? A word pop out from her head, which was "Busted!"
