CHAPTER THREE

Goofy and Charming.

Little Jason was seating at the front sit of a church with his black outfit. His gaze was on a portrait of a Lady hung at the side of a casket tagged "Lily Rodger". Jason's eyes were teary, his eyebags were heavy and red but he still looks like a cute little prince. His pink lips turn pitch. Dangerously quiet yet in his head there's a loud storm at his mother's awake

Jason was 12 when he lost his mother, her death changed his life forever.

Jason was taken home that night. On his way to his father's room he heard the voice of a woman and the sobs of his father in the open room. He saw his father seating at the edge of his bed, backing the door while the lady stood at his side, she crossed her right hand across his shoulders and rest her other hand on his left shoulder.

"You'll be fine Peter" She said so softly "I will never leave you, I'll always be here." She assured

"Oh Hannah..." Peter sobs (Hannah's the Lady's name) "Lilly.... Why.... What am I going to do" He laments

"You're not alone Peter, Romeo and I will be here for you " She assured again

Jason saw Romeo, a 15 years old boy, at the other side of the hall way watching him. Jason press his lips to a thin line trying to swallow the rage in him.

Hannah later got married to Peter, and Romeo, her son became Jason's stepbrother. Jason never like Hannah nor his stepbrother. And Romeo never made it easy for him as well, he bullied Jason and paint him as the bad guy to his Father.

"How could you do this Jason!" Peter scolded Jason one day. He was showing him a broken trophy

"Dad it wasn't me" Little Jason defended

"Romeo saw you sneaking in my office and playing with my stuff, you even broke my trophy, how could you!" Peter yell.

"Dad he's lying" Jason look at Romeo who's smirking mischievously at a corner

"Now why would he lie about that"

"Would you believe a stranger than your own son?"

"Romeo is also my son" Peter Defend

"No he's not, you picked him up from the gutter, both him and his dog of a mother" He spat

Peter advanced to hit him but Hannah got in the way "No honey, let him be, he's just a confused kid" Hannah said

Jason wasn't at least appreciative he still glare at her.

"Go to your room!" Peter spat infuriated

Jason angrily match to his room. Romeo was still wearing his evil smirk but had to flush it immediately Peter stare at him, but Peter didn't notice.

Jason jump on his bed "I hate them all" He raged

Ella couldn't quit staring at Jason "Oh my God, he's hot!" It almost felt like she said that out loud. She felt so hot, it's like his presence generates heat. His eyes are persuasive, his brows are hairy and neatly curved, his brown hair is super soft even Ella felt the tingle to touch. Her eyes also meant his perfectly pink lips, the lower lip dance around as he observe her. Ella could even tell when he gulp a little by the lowering of his Adam apple. He's so perfect!. His height is magnificent.

"Who are you?" Jason breaks the awkward silence.

Even his voice sounds damn! Ella open her mouth but again, words failed her. She gulp several times, trying to push the words out, even her can't tell why she's acting up.

Jason scoff "Cat got your tongue?"

"What, no...." Ella gradually got back to her senses "....no, I'm fine...." Convincing herself more. What's she doing, she's lusting over the son of her father's murderer. Never! Though she'll admit he's super hot but that shouldn't change anything.

"Who are you?" Jason asked

"I'm Ella Carter, your new secretary" She gained her confidence.

"Oh, you're the secretary, and I thought you're this random stalker" He cutely said.

"Random stalker? Why on earth" She object.

"That ain't new " he walk to his chair.

"Well excuse me sir, I'm sure there are more relevant things I can be doing than stalking anyone, let alone you sir" She said "Even if there's nothing, then I prefer staring at a wall _ sir" She added.

Jason was speechless, he pause beside his chair. That's the first time a girl ever said that to him, usually they would try seducing him. Who is she anyways. He just twisted his perfect lips playfully and sat down

"Get me coffee" Was all he could say.

Even Ella expected more since he didn't she won't stress it, someone need to tell him off anyways and she's glad she did.

Ella left the office slightly infuriated and at the same time satisfied she told him off, shortly, she came back with a cup of coffee. Jason was still seated, his eyes were fixed on his laptop, his hand was tangled to his hair as he focused on the computer. The lines on his forehead makes him even cuter. He looks hotter when he's serious. She presented the coffee to him. Jason took a sip from it and frown returning it to the table.

"Why are there no sugar?" He interrogated

"But I added " She defended

"Well, it's not enough. Take this and go get me another one " He ordered.

Ella wanted to object but what's the point, she angrily took the cup and exit. Jason smirk as he watch her leave.

Ella came again but this time there's a new problem. He jerk at the coffee he drank "Now you want to kill me with diabetes. The sugar's too much" He rejected it again

Ella came several times with series of coffee but Jason rejected them all, it's either it's sugary or not, too hot or too cold or any other problems. Ella was deeply frustrated but Jason was having the fun of it. How can he be goofy and charming all at once.

Finally she came with another cup, she hasn't been smiling but this time the frown is more visible in her face. Her gaze alone could commit murder

"This is more like it" He finally agreed.

Ella rolled her eyeballs and attempt to exit.

"Wait a second" He halted her "Help me go through these files will you" He ordered stretching some files to her. He cross his legs on his table and relax as he watch Ella exit. Ella gave a provoking "Augh!!!" Immediately she step outside then walk to her sit.

Ella was busy with some paper work where a fare blond Lady walk in. She's Katie Evans. She look dashing, her lips are rose red and her eyes are sky blue. She catwalk to Ella's table with a chin up high. Ella lift her head to see her.

Good day ma'am, how may I help you" Ella's asked.

Katie survey Ella from her head to the least she can see and lift her eyes back to her head. "He hired another secretary?"

Ella's wasn't expecting such question, and to think the rude gestures she's generating. "Huh, Pardon?" She didn't know how to answer.

Katie did another survey "Just as I thought, you are just like the rest of them" She blunt

"The rest of who?"

"I'm Jason fiancee, and I'm here to see him" She change the topic, stressing on the 'Fiancee'

Ella know an insecure person when she sees one. She'd gotten the message real quick. "He's expecting you" was all she said.

Katie made her way to the office with some kind of attitude. Shortly Jason and Katie step out.

"Cancel all my meetings." Jason ordered Ella "

"But wait... Sir" Ella halted him from leaving "I'm sorry sir, but you have an important board meeting later this afternoon. And according to the records you've extended it quite a lot. For the sake of the headquarter meeting coming up there should be reports." She fearlessly said.

"Someone has been working hard with informations" Jason was impressed.

"I'm just saying sir" Ella defend

"Jason" Katie calling him to order

"Alright, let the meeting be by 5pm" Jason adjusted and exit with Katie

At the restaurant they were, Katie was awfully quiet and playing with her food. Jason is almost done finishing his meal while she hasn't succeeded in taking one spoon. Jason scoop a large piece of turkey to his mouth before he noticed she wasn't eating.

"Why aren't you eating" He asked "Don't you like it?"

"Last night you went to your hotel drunk and you were accompanied by a girl. The both of you spent awfully long hours in the room _ together " Katie interrogated.

Jason drop his fork "Were you stalking me?" He asked, squinting his eyes and tilted his head charmingly

"I hate it when you don't try to deny it" She burst

"Nothing happened "

"Oh really? Jason Rodger?" She raise a brow

"Okay, maybe a thing or two" he admit "...but it was nothing, ...I was just goofing around okay"

"You call that goofing around?" She yell

"Babe keep it down please" He felt embarrassed by the eye services around "Katie, I'm sorry, you know I always love you. None of these girls can ever add up" He assured.

"If you love me then you wouldn't be cheating on me. You have no idea how much of a joke you made me to my friends" Katie said

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you like that, I'll change..."

"You've said that over and over, but nothing's changed" Katie interrupted trying to reject Jason's hands form touching her. "It's over Jason"

"What?" Jason was shocked "Katie, you're not serious"

"I'm cutting off our engagement. I can't do this anymore" Drop her ring on the table.

"Katie, I'm sorry " was all he could say.

Katie made her way out of the restaurant leaving Jason shocked and broken.

"Katie" Was all he could say.

Ella was still working with her laptop. The office phone at her side rang.

"Hello" She said after picking the call

"Can I speak to my son please" A male voice spoke at the other side of the line.

A frown settle at her forehead, but just to be sure "Who's this?" She asked

"I'm Jason's father, Peter Rodger" He said

That name brought a fury from Ella's stomach. Her eyes open in rage, she smatch her teeth together. Inside her head i

s chaos, a thought came immediately and almost felt as if she said it out loud "Murderer!"
