54 The final encounter Folegandros, August 2010 It was late afternoon, and although on the beach the high winds had brought the temperature down, the roof of the cottage seemed to have absorbed all the intense heat from the sun. Eleni’s face had lit up when she discovered this little fisherman’s cottage on the island of Folegandros on page three of her Google search after months of looking, just as she was about to give up.
