CHAPTER ONE
The sun had just begun to rise over the city as Emily briskly down the street. She was a young and ambitious woman, determined to make a name for herself in the business world. She was dressed in a smart pantsuit, her hair pulled back into a neat ponytail, and her briefcase clutched tightly in her hand. As she approached the towering skyscraper that housed the headquarters of one of the largest corporations in the country, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation.
As she entered the building, Emily took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves. She had an interview for the position of personal assistant to the CEO, and she knew that the competition for the job would be fierce. But she was determined to make a good impression and land the position.
As she made her way to the elevator, Emily noticed a man standing next to her. He was tall, with wavy dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He was dressed in a sharp suit and carried himself with an air of confidence and authority.
"Good morning," he said, flashing her a dazzling smile.
"Good morning," Emily replied, feeling a flutter in her stomach.
As they rode the elevator up to the top floor, they made small talk, and Emily couldn't help but feel drawn to the man. She found out that his name was Alexander, and he was the CEO of the company she was interviewing with.
When they reached the top floor, Emily was ushered into a conference room where Alexander was waiting for her. He greeted her warmly and began to ask her questions about her experience and qualifications. Emily answered confidently, doing her best to impress him.
As the interview went on, Emily began to notice the way Alexander looked at her. There was an intensity in his gaze that made her heart race. She tried to ignore it, focusing on the questions he was asking her, but she couldn't deny the attraction she felt.
After the interview was over, Alexander walked Emily to the elevator. As they waited for the doors to open, he turned to her and said, "I think you would be perfect for the job. I'll have my assistant call you with the details."
Emily couldn't believe her ears. She had landed the job. As she stepped onto the elevator, she turned to Alexander and said, "Thank you so much, Mr. Smith."
"Please, call me Alex," he replied, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
Emily was overwhelmed with joy as she walked out of the building, holding the job offer letter tightly. She had always dreamt of working for a big corporation and now her dream was finally coming true. She walked down the street, feeling the warm sun on her skin, and took in the sights and sounds of the city.
As she walked, her phone rang. It was her best friend, Sarah. "Hey, how did the interview go?" Sarah asked.
"I got the job!" Emily replied, barely able to contain her excitement.
"That's amazing! I knew you could do it. Congratulations!" Sarah replied, her voice filled with genuine happiness for her friend.
Emily couldn't wait to get home and celebrate with Sarah. She hailed a cab and made her way back to her apartment. As she rode in the taxi, she couldn't help but think about Alexander. There was something about him that had captivated her from the moment she met him. She knew that working for him would be a challenge, but she was determined to make a good impression.
Over the next few days, Emily prepared for her first day on the job. She researched Alexander and the company, read up on the latest business news, and made sure she was fully prepared for whatever might come her way. The night before her first day, she barely slept, her mind racing with excitement and anticipation.
On her first day, Emily arrived at the office early, eager to make a good impression. As she walked through the doors, she was greeted by the sight of a bustling corporate environment. People were rushing back and forth, phones were ringing, and the air was filled with the sound of typing and clicking.
Emily made her way to the reception desk, where she was greeted by the friendly face of Alexander's assistant, Olivia. Olivia was a striking woman with long blonde hair and a warm smile. She showed Emily to her desk and gave her a rundown of her duties.
As the day went on, Emily found herself busy with a variety of tasks. She scheduled appointments, answered emails, and made sure that Alexander's calendar was up-to-date. Despite the hectic pace, she felt a sense of satisfaction that came from knowing that she was doing important work.
As the day drew to a close, Emily found herself thinking about Alexander once again. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was something between them, something more than just a professional relationship. But she pushed those thoughts aside, reminding herself that she was here to work, not to get distracted by her boss.
As Emily packed up her things and left the office, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what lay ahead. She had landed her dream job, and she was determined to make the most of it. But little did she know, her life was about to take a dramatic turn, one that would lead her into a world of danger, passion, and forbidden love.
